Hello. Just a heads up that the low glitch run of Sonic Advance has seen some nice progress recently if anyone is still interested. As a little teaser here is a WIP of the finished run of Casino Paradise 1. Link to video Thanks to Dada for the encode. VBM: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/297925349/sonicadvancecasinoparadise.vbm Here I achieved a very nice 0:19:77, improving on my earlier post in this thread of a 0:24:73. The improvement was achieved by a more optimal strategy halfway through the level and a new zip at the end (thanks to Zeupar for the idea).

Yeah, do not worry, you will have people interested whatever happens. The only reason I would ask you to rush is due to the fact I was seconds away from asking where Tails was again. Apparently my memory is not what it was.

This still going? Was hoping that the recent low glitch Sonic1 run may have offered some motivation. Pardon the double post.

Very much so. The run is pretty close to completion, but I have put in on hold while I finish up something else. Expect in a few weeks.

A 100% run of Sonic Advance 2 would look like this: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm13377390 http://www.nicozon.net/watch/sm13377390 - For those without an account.

So... that "something else" was fantastic, really brilliant, and god knows I want you continue doing your thing with the other something else's(i.e. 2,3,+K,CDetc)... But how is this coming along?

Yeah, my TASing motivation pretty much died after finishing that huge project, which is annoying as I am as far as Angel Island with SA1. Once I pick it up again it will only take a few days to complete, and hopefully that will be sooner rather than later.

Currently I am working on a Knuckles version that does not abuse any sort of glitches. Current progress is up to Secret Base Zone 1

How come you slide down the slope on Ice Mountain 2? Great job so far. I'm not sure if I'm more impressed by the run or how fast it's being completed lol.

What I've seen here is awesome, Maria, but I'd like to know your vision of a 100% run of Sonic Advance: Will you play with all four characters? And will you play the special stages with everyone or just Knuckles? All of this could feel a little repetitive, since the levels are the same for all characters, and only Sonic needs the emeralds to fight the extra boss. I fully support this, but it may not seem like a good choice of run.

Yes, my plan was to use all 4 characters. Getting all Chaos Emeralds with all characters is required for the true ending and you have to beat the game with all characters, or at least last I remembered. Though I am more than confused now at this point so I will probably just scrap it altogether... whoever that would want to resume working on it can feel free to do such. I can't figure it out anymore so until I do, I'm done with it.

In Sonic Advance 1? No it's not, you only need to collect the emeralds once. As for completing the game, you might need to complete it with all characters? I honestly don't remember. With that in mind, if it's at all possible you should be trying to get all seven Emeralds with just Sonic. I don't think the first one is possible to reach in unassisted play (or maybe I just wasn't good enough), but I'm sure a TAS could get up there.

Actually, getting to the first special spring with Sonic is pretty easy.

I have decided to go with improving the currently published run for Knuckles and so far have saved 350 frames total. In-game time has improved quite a bit as well in comparison to the published version. Impressive. I'm glad to see my suggestion of punching to reach the last booster of the first act was useful. I have a couple ideas that may save some time, though: In the first act, try performing a spin dash on the platform with the second checkpoint instead of going down and doing it on the ground. In the second act, try jumping from the first loop's top left arc.

Neo Green Hill 1 has been improved thanks to that suggestion, though I am working on Neo Green Hill 2 and I am almost certain that sub 38 is possible.

I have been trying to work on a v2 improvement run for the published "Knuckles" Advance in which i have managed to get some pretty neat times. VBM: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/917129584656330 Encode: Link to video

Great stuff. How you got the 3 punch combo to save time in ngh2 will always be cool. Early days I know but I'm hoping you do more with the advance series!

Any chance of you doing an All-Chaos-Emeralds run?

Very nice. I have managed to improve the first act of Secret Base Zone by 0.5 seconds using an extra punch and a different route near the end. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/264633401/SecretBaseZoneAct1In34.37.vbm

Zeupar: Wow. That's very interesting~ I should have seen it coming, but I didn't. Quite nice! Paused: One day in the future, it could happen. N. Harmonik: I tried to do that, but I had decided to scrap it for I had to get a true understanding on what that type of run would mean. It may be redone/resumed soon.
