Alright, time for a new WIP for the full run. Because of the improvements Yuzuhara found before, I restarted the run from scractch together with him. Current WIP goes up to finishing Hera's Tower. SMV Youtube Explanations are in the Youtube link.
Oh this was just great. Really looking forward to seeing the full run.

That was hilarious. Specially when it looked like you left Zelda in a wall and took her out from another wall. Great WIP. It did however look like some hits on Moldorm was delayed a teeny-tiny bit, was that a mistake or did you manipulate something?

All hits on Moldorm were made on the earliest frame possible. For the final hit it looks like I'm waiting awhile, but that's because it is much quicker to move away, the time between each hit is still the same however.

Is it necessary to rescue Zelda? You skip that block in the throne room so she isn't required to move that.

Oh yeah, guess I should have mentioned something about that too... If you go to the Santuary without her, the overworld will still be raining. This mode has all overworld sprites remove. You are able to play up to Death Mountain however, but will be unable to get the Mirror to proceed any further. So rescuing Zelda is sadly neccesary in the end.

Haven't played the game in a while, so I forgot that, thanks. Then it looks all good to me.

Is there a new glitch reason to use the J ROM? It seems like the Japanese text-scrolling is slower in this game, compared to say Ocarina of Time.

The JP glitches I'll be using aren't really new to be honest. The main one is skipping half of Turtle Rock, whcih will save a lot of time in a run. There are also some glitches that involve using the boots + an item on the same frame, which can give you various effects. For the text part, it saves about 6073 frames (+- 10) in this category having Japanese text. EDIT: Just got a PM that pointed out a most retarded mistake made in the WIP, I'm the one who should be punished. In Desert Palace, 11:40 in the run, I switched to the Lamp. The reason why I switched there was to manipulate the enemy in the next room, which you can also manipulate by delaying a few frames. The thing is... In this TAS, I won't need the Lamp yet, as the second part of the dungeon won't be finished until later. So that item switch was plain stupid and unneccesary. I'm redoing the run from that point at once.

I showed the WIP to a friend of mine and it bred a discussion that pointed out something I didn't consider. Though I am quite sure you have considered this I have to ask: (Note that neither one of us have played this game in a few years) Are the medallions needed for anything besides picking up the Master Sword? Or is the added strength from the Master Sword / Tempered Sword needed before the face off with Aghanim? Because he pointed out that since this is an old game and since the creators never considered us to tear the Dark World apart with the Fighters Sword that there are probably no checks to verify that you have the Master Sword or the Tempered Sword which means it should be possible to get the Golden Sword from the Fighters Sword through the fat fairy. If this holds and the medallions / higher sword level isn't needed for anything else it would not be necessary to fight Moldorm either, just get the Moon Pearl and get out. Or is it so that the time saved from not completing Hera's Tower and not completing the Desert Palace plus skipping the Master Sword is nulled by the reduced ability to inflict damage to the enemies until the Golden Sword can be obtained? (I hope this question makes sense at least)

Getting the first pendant is neccesary to get the Pegasus Boots. But the other two are only to get the Master Sword. I'll skip the MS but still beat all dungeons. For the swords you are able to upgrade the Lvl 1 sword to the Tempered. But to get the Golden Sword you have to throw in the Tempered one. Neither Uncle's Sword or the Master Sword will work for this.

So it is necessary to beat all the dungeons to finish the game "normally" then? That sucks :( Thanks for clarifying the Sword issue.

You can skip fighting Lanmolas and Moldorm and still beat the game, by using the Death Mountain Descent glitch. I just want all dungeons to be completed in this run, so I beat those bosses anyway even though it isn't needed.

I think it would actually add entertainment to not beat them, but I am not doing the TAS. Thanks for the clarifications :)

Nice WIP. The most surprising part for me was when you turned around to shoot that green Eyegore in the Eastern Palace. I'm assuming that doing that allowed the red Eyegores in the next to last room to drop 15 arrows, but if not it was probably for some other enemy manipulation reasons. Can you explain these types of things in detail in the comments? I'm really curious about the drops in particular, and I'd also take a link to that if a good explanation exists online somewhere.

All enemies that drop items drop them in a specific order, all explained here: http://notesmash.org/krystal/alttp/prizepacks.png So as you guessed: I killed it to be able to get arrow drops later on. In the old run I also wasted time in order to get a 8 bomb drop in Palace of Darkness. Which I won't be able to do this time because of a chance in the route. I also try to manipulate magic or heart drops to shorten the refill time after the boss.

Great Work, Tompa! One question: Can't you use that floating trick to reach the arena faster when you're heading for that centipede type boss (Around Frame 60200)?

I'm not alone on this projecct, working together with Yuzuhara. Just going to point out that once again =P. You can only go through walls like that if there is a hole you hover on first. So it doesn't work to reach Moldorm earlier.

All I have to say is, "What the @!(&%!" The WIP starts out ho-hum. Then things get weird, then the WIP breaks the game.

Whoa. Now, it's been a while since I last played ALttP, but I could swear this is not the way you're supposed to go through the game.

has to do with the death mountain dash allowing master sword skip hence better/faster locations to warp back to light world to finish off the Desert boss, etc.
