Improved my old Famtasia recording by 11.6 seconds. 15 seconds if you ignore the additional frames that FCEU adds between screens.

Extra tricks:

  • Moving between screens isn't a smooth process. Hitting the edge with certain frames of animation gets you around faster. The best ones are the last step before a jump, and the last few frames before landing.
  • Level 8: Jumped off the ledge on the far left instead of dropping down. For some reason hitting the wall prevents fall damage.
  • Level 10: Jumped off at the end, taking damage, but using the wall to skip the landing delay.

I'm surprised no one has voted for this yet... It's clearly faster than current run, and it obsoletes a Famtasia movie. As well as the fact that I actually enjoyed watching this movie. Great job! Let me be the first to vote Yes.

Nicely done! Especially fun to watch after a Japanese TV with a guy having a hard time with the Super Famicom version. Yes from me, too.

I'm wondering something here. I own the PC version, and I know this one has some small changes... However do you need to do that part in level 5 where your mirror image gets the potion? In the PC version that part was unneccesary, and you could get the gate to the left of the exit to open by just jumping on the switch above the door which you can reach from the right side without going up to that part. Also sad to see they took out the mirror fight.

I think the text at the bottom of the screen saying "EXIT OPENED" when I hit the switch over there is enough of a hint.
