Nice vid JXQ. Bummer it didn't work out, but it seems like many abuses will happen with this game. Keep up the good work!

EDIT: Is it possible to activate the debug mode while doing the level select becuase it doesn't seem to work for me.
Try this: Up, Down, Left, Right, Right, C, C, C, C, Up, Down, Left, Right, A (keep holding A until the level has faded in), Start, ..., Start.

I hope, I bump the right topic here. Some month ago, when I tased "omg the red rings", I noticed that the published run apparently forgot to use the left/right trick at the beginning. That and some minor changes resulted in a 4 frames improvement of GHZ1 (I didn't check at the rest of the run though). I just put it here, in case that it is useful for future improvements.

When I TASed it a couple of months ago I got 3 frames of improvements so I'd be interested to know where the other frame came from *looks at WIP*. I got a frame at the start using that L+R trick and 2 at the loop. Unfortunatley I couldn't improve GH2 because of the bee, but I have found a method to improve the older TAS which doesn't go under the level. They are some other improvements in the game such as the Marble and Labyrinth's zones but I'm not sure if it will add up to an acceptable amount :\ EDIT: This is my version I found a glitch with the loop in Act 3 unfourtantly it doesn't seem useful because the the only parts that can be zipped at the top left and right corners.

Err, the published TAS and the prior TAS both use the left+right trick at the beginning. Those 4 extra frames are interesting, though. Nice work.

I managed to improve GH1 by an additional frame. At one point you were 3 frames ahead of me but you lose one due to a frame of lag. As I suspected you had a better loop jumping sequence, but the roll method you used towards the end of the level costed you a little time. EDIT: I tried implementing your improvement into my .gmv. Unfortunatley it doesn't avoid the frame of lag towards the end, but I prefer it because of the fact Sonic glitches though the left side of the tele at the start instead of the right edge. Although I have to admit I wouldn't be to surprised if its somehow possible to save an additional couple of frames on this level.

Argh, you are right, I forgot about the lag. Good eye and thanks for the fast reply and correction.

Incase anyone was wondering about the method that was. It involved using a different strat at the start which was 11 frames faster and there was also an extra frame towards the end which the second published run had also missed. It came about when I was looking for alternate strats, sadly its not useful because of the bee, and can't be implemented in a no glitch run either. It would only be useful in a emeralds run, which won't be accepted due to conflicting similarities with the any%. There's probably a method which improves it, but I wasn't able to find it at the time. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/676371489/Sonic%20the%20Hedgehog%20%28JUE%29%20%5BR-Jap%5D%5B%21%5D.gmv

small improvements to GH1 GH3 and M2 over the currently published run but desyncs in m3. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/259495580/Copy%20%2840%29%20of%20SonicTasTeam_Sonic1.gmv I don't think any of these levels, or GH2, are perfect and I didn't think that these small improvements were worth submitting.

I have a problem. I download the movie Sonic 1 in 15.51.73, but when played, there is a mismatch in GH2. I think the problem might be that I have not the correct version. Could you give me a link to download the correct version?

So I did some Sonic 1 a few weeks ago, and I completed GH1 15 frames faster than the published movie. I didnt have any motivation to continue on but if there arent any better games to TAS then I guess I could do this. Sonik's Abandoned Sonic 1 WIP

Well, I liked Sonikkustar improvement. I have tried to improve but more slowly, for example, as much as I was 0:24.38. Then I gave up, try to improve GHZ2, and I could do it eight frames faster. Look here . I was also trying to improve GHZ3 but to 4 frames slower Insert my film to that of Sonikkustar, if it does not bother him
Level | Time | Previous Time | Saving | Player
---------------------------------------------------------
GHZ1 | 0:24.30 | 0:24.45 | 15 frames | Sonikkustar
GHZ2 | 0:13.40 | 0:13.48 | 8 frames | Mmarks

Heh, Nice job on GHZ2. I dont mind if you insert it into my movie. :) Speaking of things, I might start this again. Despite how annoying it is to TAS with pixel perfection, It is pretty fun. And on that note... Green Hill Zone 2 in 13.33! This is now 30 frames faster that the current publication. I did a lower jump than in the published movie, but the zip is the same as mmarks because there is no way that I could save more time at the tunnel due to the objects not being loaded up yet.

You should totally keep it rolling. :P After five movies and various respected TASers involved in one way or another, an improvement of 30 frames along just two acts is a considerable achievement. I am sure that your username has something to do with this. I also liked that rotation effect at the end of the first act.

looks great so far, can't wait for GH3! I think a few frames can be saved on the boss, but I'm not sure about anything else.

Am I the only one who wants to see an all-emeralds run? Would anyone be willing to work on one?

What is preventing you from getting it?

The reasons are because I can not find the correct version anywhere. And with the game that I have, I could only get a degree in GH1. Here is

It looks like there is already an all-emeralds run by AKA bit it seems to have been rejected for being too simillar to the other run.

Green Hill Zone Completed! These are the times I have for this Zone
Green Hill 1: 0:24:30
Green Hill 2: 0:13:33
Green Hill 3: 0:30:48
I kinda want to rework some of the ending for GHZ3. But this is what I got so far.
