This is an improvement of my normal route by 3543 frames (about 59 seconds)

Main improvements are:

  • Slightly more damage taken.
  • Hitting Bosses twice with one Bone. (Which I couldn't get working on the Goat Boss for an odd reason.)
  • A few less save visits.
  • Way less lag by using a more up to date VBA.
  • Sliding before getting the Dash boots which is faster than speed walking with the DSS and saves me MP.
  • More precision by using Frame Advance rather than 6% speed like in my old movie.

  • Takes damage to save time.
  • Abuses a programming error in the game.
  • Manipulates Luck
  • Recorded on Nitsuja's VBA 9
I'm waiting for BoltR to finish his new Metroid Zero Mission movie..:P

Truncated: Putting it on accepted because it is entertaining and improves on a published movie.
Phil: I am taking care of it.
Phil: I've changed my mind. Sorry Ogreslayer.
Bisqwit: Processing.

Well yes of course! BTW, this movie reminds me of Achewood comic. :D

This is not my favourite, but the run is really awesome. I don't understand this game perfectly, but why didn't you use the "Super Glitch"? It's so cool...

Vote yes. Its faster and looks good. The "Super Glitch" looks great (when you mean the one which moozooh post), but it makes the game a bit boring. Its to fast. So this one is much better, because it show near everything from the game, except one Boss.

Hey, OgreSlayerR... I had not seen that glitched run before... It's the BEST CotM run you've ever done! I'll keep that one! Heheh... But why there's no super glitch in this new run? I know it can be used in other places, but I don't know the game, so I don't know if there are shortcuts.

Because it's like the The Legend of Zelda ALTTP glitched run. The non wall glitched ALTTP could of probably used that wall glitch in other places but why bother when you can just beat the game at the start with it. Hence why there are seperate runs. This plays the game like you normally would minus having to collect all the Cards.

I was talking about that BIG rooms that you have to go through... they're really boring, so I thought you could skip some and reach the bosses faster

Is anyone going to make a run where you do collect the right cards?

There is no point really. Collecting them only wastes lots of time and the Cards I do use you don't get till like the end of the game. Not like it will look more impressive anyway. If anything look less impressive seeing how Nathan runs like he's running through snow without the speed DSS setup.

I enjoyed the previous version a lot, and this one is faster and with less lag. Plus, this game has great music! I already voted yes.

Voting yes, although I think I see a few points of route improvement. I'll catch you in IRC if I can.

I'm curious how you think the route can be improved. The game is way more linear than say Super Metroid. If you've come up with something though I look forward to hearing it even though I think I'm done with this game. :P

Well, it does shows the bosses... but only for 2 seconds, because when Nathan turns into a skeleton and throws that bone, it's bye-bye boss. So we don't see what the enemies can do, and it's really easy to become tired of that skeleton (he does nothing but throwing bones). You spend 20 minutes just running around, and there's nothing fun in that. I'd like to see more glitches and normal boss fights (using summoning card combinations, for example). So far, the best CotM run is the glitched one.

So any reason this hasn't been accepted yet? 19 yes votes and also an improvement to a star run. I'm just curious, because my run currently on the site was accepted and published very quickly.

Yep it's fast alright ;) Nice shortcuts and well planed when to take damage and when to just avoid the enemy. Voting yes. EDIT: Encoded. ;) Now if there were only someone who'd like to accept and publish this.. Well, if this doesn't get published, you can get the .avi from me in case you'd like to have it.
Which run should I encode next? :)

This has been encoded for several weeks now.. It sure would be nice to see this published someday... It seems like a slap in the face to me who worked on this run, to just let it sit there for several weeks while all the work is pretty much done(the encoding). If runs like SMW can be published a day after, then every other run should be too if the playing is good. This is why the voting system is irrelevant. If I chose a Mega Man game or something instead, it would be probably be published fast because of bias here. This may very well be the last TAS I contribute if this is how it's gonna be.

What does it matter if it's published or not, it's not like no one's seen the movie just because it's not on the main page.

You're totally missing the point. Just because the movie file can be downloaded from the workbench doesn't mean everyone has seen it. I'm sure alot of people who watch these movies only see the movies when they are published. Probably because they don't visit the forums, and they get the AVI/Movie file when it's published. I don't want these same people watching an obsolete run that lags all over when it shouldn't be and having flaws in playing.

Or because some people still have trilobite computers and need to wait for an AVI for technical reasons =P (which is really a shame, I'm sure this movie would be interesting...)

>It seems like a slap in the face to me who worked on this run, to just let it sit there for several weeks while all the work is pretty much done(the encoding). I agree with this. If the movie is already encoded, then publishing it almost no work at all. Especially when compared to making it, encoding it, or even judging it. Somebody get to it already. :/ >This is why the voting system is irrelevant. If I chose a Mega Man game or something instead, it would be probably be published fast because of bias here. Well, it's also because Mega Man games get a lot of votes fast. It's not strange that they get judged and encoded quickly, but I don't get why other judged and encoded runs should have to wait to be published.

Actually, runs aren't obsolete until there exists a new run in AVI format. Strange, I know, but true! This is why your first run has not been obsoleted, and why Genisto has the fastest SMB2 Princess-only run in existence! To be serious, I'm actually surprised this isn't published because it's obsoleting a starred movie. Double-U Tee Eff, mate?
