How about making a TAS of this game? It seems the moves list is bigger in this game then in mortal kombat 1-3. Shang Tsung isn't in this game (not sure). Write your thought about this game and if it's TASable or not. And your knowledge about this game would also appriciated

I'd love to see this game made. There is a substitute for Shang Tsung though. Can't remember if it was Shinok that could morph into other characters. But I am looking forward to see this game. Will be lots of action!

I think it's interesting to see a TAS for the Mortal Kombat Series (MK trilogy and/or MK4) -- mainly to see fatalities. mmm... I can't remember any more about morphing... after you morphed, you can perform the morphed character's fatality ? If the answer is yes, it would be awesome to see a run with many (or all) char's fatalities.

He just copies the moveset of the character, not actually morphs unfortunately.. couldn't get him to copy fatalites either.

"impersonations" And it's funny because he gets the same voice as the guy he is copying... even when it's a female!

Fatalies would be a no-go for this run, assuming whoever does this run is going for overall time. It would be quicker to just kick the guy once down to the ground, round over. I think MK4 (or any fighter of the sort, like Soul Calibur, Street Fighter etc.) would make for a rather boring run to go for speed, since unlike, say, Pit Fighter, there are ring-outs so then the goal would be to get the fastest ringout. Also the actual moves are more than a few frames long so there could be no insanely fast combos like in Pit Fighter. It would be better optimally to TAS something like Shaq-Fu. As lame as the game may be, at least it has a storymode (of a sort).

Since when are fighting games all about speed anyway? This one is no different, it's all about show and being fast, but hindered by the fact there is no shang tsung.

using Quan-chi, you can copy the 2º fatality of the opponent.

One of his fatalities is doing the fatality of the person he's fighting.

Since there has been a lot of interest for the Mortal Kombat games lately, I thought a TAS of Mortal Kombat 4 would be a nice addition. I am willing to do this, but only if there is a sufficient amount of support. I have done the first three fights already which can be downloaded here: 3 fights done. The movie ends after the "Finish him" message, because for some reason I can't perform the second fatality. So what I would like to know is: what do you think of it? And does anyone know how to perform the second fatality?

I can't watch it for some reason. I used the same plug-ins, but it tells me that there is no controller plugged in. I checked the settings and everything seems fine. I don't know what's wrong.

You need to uncheck 'Raw Data' under Options -> Input Settings...

are you using Shinnok?

Yes, I am using Shinnok. I try to be as creative as possible and to show off some multi-hit or max damage combos of each character. I finally managed to pull off Shinnok's second fatality and I currently have completed five fights. The only issue is that you can't perform the other character's fatality, but only Shinnok's. Do you have any suggestions what endings I should do?

When possible you need to do a Stage Fatality... I don't know any glitches in this MK...I can't remember any... I will download and watch your WIP...

Aah, shoot. None of the stages allow you to perform Stage Fatalities on. There are only two: The Prison and Goro's Lair. The Prison is never played and you can't do a fatality on Goro. But there is a way around this by using, what I call, the Training Trick. So consider the current run a testrun, which I just completed: Complete Testrun. I am going to redo all of it, but please make some comments on my testrun first.

That was an awesome testrun. The way I see it, there could be two runs of this game: One with Shinnok because of his ability to mimic people's personalities and the other one with Quan Chi just for the secondary mimiced fatalities. Would you be up for doing two runs? Otherwise, nice testrun and I look forward to more.

Weird, your testrun gives me a "No Controller Found" error at the start.

Make sure controller 1 is checked in the input settings.

^ that and 'Raw Data' needs to be unchecked in the box next to it. (This setting is the default setting for playing and recording movies) @ VANDAL: I don't think a run with Quan Chi would be entertainment enough. Sure you can do seven different fatalities (in contrast with four with Shinnok) in a single run, but the main part of the movie (the fighting) will be repetitive.

If you are going to make a run of this game just remember input was missing in this testrun. A highscore name has to be typed in.
