Hey, Yrr, good job, keep doing. My nickname really is so hard to remember? One of my friends is working on the Julius run, it much improves the published run. How terrible Julius' voice is.

Yeah, that's about as useful as those numbers can be.

Finally a WIP: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1035055664/yrrAOS-final.vbm Btw zggzdydp, the Julius looks pretty cool, however I think, there could be slight improvements.

That creaking skull fight was insane O_O Also, your uphill movement looks fastest (AL 4 frame pause) is this in fact faster than any other method?

Thanks, it is intended to be so :)

That stairs-climbing technique is most likely faster than any other kind of movement (except for black panther of course) as you can use the backdash-speed boost continuesly.

Nice, Yrr. I dunno why, but this backdash+jump on uphill slopes of yours looks smoother than mine...?? But it's just the same, except I use a pause of 3 frames sometimes. Rough calculation: At the first set of stairs (in the merman room) you took 31 frames from the lowest ground to the higher floor. I took 30. Maybe it looks smoother because you always use the same interval between jumps... You may have forgotten, but it's just what I told you to do since your very first WIP...

Do you think? When I watch a WIP of yours I think the same. But you might be right with the intervals.

Yeah, like I wrote, it was a rough calculation... they might be the same thing. By the way... I think I'll resume the all souls run tonight.

@Yrr: Have you ever compared your new WIP with my old WIP5? I found that you lost more than 7 frames before the Creaking Skull fight...then regained them later, though.
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do

Pirate, can I get a status report on your run? Are you any farther than the last WIP you posted?

Hi guys! Sorry for the late replay, I've been busy the last weeks. So no update of my run. I'm still stuck at that §%$#&! combat knife. But I am still alive and want to continue soon.

arkiandruski, no news to report. I've been very busy with other non-tas related projects.

I don't see a reason why we need more than one thread for this game. Besides, the other thread is on the second page. Anyway, I've been working on mine on and off. It's still on normal, so if the community decides hard will be better, I'll make it a demo run. Luck manipulation is still a PITA. I'm currently at Great Armor, but have a pause before his soul, which I don't like. I can't see how to get it any quicker, though. I've been trying to find other values for drops, but so far I've only found the one. I have managed to take around twenty frames off the drop time, though. (it's about 4.5 minutes on normal so far, so adjust for expert and.. I'm not sure)

And you know this is the 3rd thread about this game, don't you...? The first one was about a normal run, the second was about hard mode + glitch abuse ("recently" became all souls), and this one, which I don't remember what it was about.

This is the any% glitchless discussion, despite the fact that the run has been restarted way too many times.

arkiandruski, can you upload your WIP? The run would be complicated, I suggest you examine glitches and make a test run first. I'd like to see a crazy glitch run.

Here. I'm thinking of following zggzdydp's run up to Balore and branching after that to get Black Panther. However, Legion and more importantly Galamoth need to be gotten before then to prevent backtracking. As for this run, I know I make a lot of mistakes. My primary goal is to make Soma one of the luckiest people in the world, so I get a lot of items I don't need. I'm also learning the physics of the game. I may go back and rework it later if I feel it's worth it, but I kind of want to press forward for now. I have a couple ideas for Balore, too. Hopefully they turn out to save time.

Watched, cool. A minor mistake you made: walking is slower on slanted surfaces, so you should jump at the beginning. I still like you continue, keep doing.

I hope one of your ideas is to use a Kaiser Knuckle and tap dance on his fists, because that is the only way a man would fight Balore.

Good run! A lot of places aren't done optimal, however you have done an extremly good job on luck-manipulation. There were almost no delays. Looks very good so far! Which route are going to take? Just an idea: might it possible to use headhunter soul? If you are going to get a lot of souls it should make you really strong.

My guess is that Headhunter is for the most part outperformed by speed-increasing souls and Lubicant.
