So, I dunno if this is known, but it's possible to use Soul drops for 0HP zipping instead of a Level Up. Basically, just die on the frame you collect a soul, and it works just like a Level Up would. I'm thinking this might save time, since there's no need to necessarily manage your EXP at all for 0HP zipping.

How are you going to save and quit? Julius can't access a menu.

Julius also can't collect souls, so it should be obvious he's talking about Soma.

Are you talking about this one? http://tasvideos.org/1681M.html There's both a Level Up and a Soul pickup going on there, so, again I'm not sure if this stuff is known, lol. Or is there an actual low% TAS out there too? I couldn't find it at least. Also, if it's low%, why would soul pick ups be allowed anyway? I'd think finishing with, well, no extra souls obtained should be the definition. EDIT: Ok, having read the run comments, klmz definitely knew about this.

Although McBobX' All Bosses run was published, Pike, KSeptuple and I are still working on this project. The All Bosses movie is recorded on vba v24 , which is more likely to produce lag frames. We finally chose hard mode and will defeat Julius. We made some rough testing movie to determine the route, and we got 2 routes in the end. We decided to try both because they are rather close in terms of timing. Here are the routes. KSeptuple's route( WIP ): Castle Corridor → [Crecking Skull] → Dance Hall → [Big Golem] → Inner Quarters → [Headhunter] → activate teleporter in Inner quarters → zip to Chapel → [Manticore] → Study → [Great Armor] → warp to Inner quarters → Top Floor → activate teleporter in Top Floor → Clock Tower → [Death] → Floating Garden → [Julius] → Balore & Legion → warp to Top Floor → [Graham] hellagels' route( WIP ): Castle Corridor → Underground Reservoir → Forbidden Area → Study → [Great Armor] → Chapel → [Manticore] → Telepoter → Castle Corridor → [Creaking Skull] → Dance Hall → [Big Golem] → Inner Quarters → [Headhunter] → Top Floor → activate teleporter in Top Floor → Clock Tower → [Death] → Floating Garden → [Julius] → Floating Garden → zip to The Arena → [Balore & Legion] → warp to Top Floor → [Graham] After using whip on the ground there will be a short period of time, when you can only using whip again and cannot perform other action. This makes it possible whip every 27 frames (28 frames in the published movie).

Do you know why McBobX chose not to get the 2nd orb from Manticore?

We think choosing one orb will spend more than the time getting another orb when fight against the other bosses. And we chose hard mode. High damage matters a lot in boss battle. So we decided to get two orbs.

New WIP:HE route & KS route(Beats first five bosses) HE route is slightly faster after compared. KS route will need 190 more frames for showing the Underground Reservoir title when first time entering that area. When changing rooms, the length of time of black screen can be manipulated (on a certain degree) and this can save some time. In KS route, when fighting with Head Hunter, we happened to find a glitch that allows Julius to move before Grand Cross ends. How was this happened is still unknown. Now HE route needs to be optimized.

WIP Beats Julius. We improved the way to reach Julius' room and the process is over 30s faster than any videos exist. Only 3 bosses, Balore, Legion and Graham, left.

Watched the WIP, it's looking really good. Julius vs. Julius was just as much fun as it sounded like.

I want to make a movie using warps and getting all souls. I think that is very interesting. Will it be accepted? And what's the standard of all souls? Soma will not get a soul by beating Julius but Julius is in enemy brochure. So could I skip the battle with Julius?

Get 100% souls (not counting Hellfire) and then kill Chaos. That should do it. And I think it would be accepted, I've had a hankering to make one myself but I don't really have the experience to plan a decent enough route. Good luck!

I think you are talking about DoS on the Hellfire part.

How is this proposed run different from the currently published "all souls" category?

I'd love to see this regardless of whether or not it'll be accepted. Do you have a route in mind? I imagine this would be an absolute nightmare to route, given how many warp glitches there are...

I don't see it getting published alongside the current "all souls" run as they'd technically be the exact same run with different routes, but theoretically, this could be much faster than the currently published run. At the very least, since this proposed run would use warp glitches, the route would be wildly different and crazier to watch. Giant Bat + Gravedigger lets you get into almost any solid wall and allows you to zip in all 4 cardinal directions. The new Julius run showed off some Catoblepas/Gorgon warping I've never seen before, along with a new version of the glitch that could potentially be applied to Soma for even more route possibilities. Death-warping like in the any% run could also be applied...

Fz-last invited alkdcY and me to finish this movie together. We have got Final sword. Here is the WIP One the whole, designing routes is the most important part in this movie. The route with Julius beaten is quite different from the one without it. Now we have to make a decision. So we do need a certain answer for whether we should beat Julius, which will influence our following plan.

That is insane! I couldn't help but go "Holy Hell!" at most of what was going on. Very nice work, Pike and company! As for what I think about beating Julius in this instance, I'd say just go with what flows with the initial run goal.

Our goal is to get all souls using warps instead of all kinds of enemies beaten. So what you mean is that we can skip the battle with Julius from whom Soma cannot get a soul?

In my mind, you're already skipping unnecessary rooms with warp glitches, so it makes sense to skip unnecessary bosses as well. The next WIP is going to be insane with the Giant Bat soul... I can't wait to see it!

Just a question: Why did you skiped Blocking Mail? Is it faster?

At that time, Soma is not strong enough to beat Dead Crusader quickly. We think getting that armor will take more time than it will save.
