It's faster than Pom's movie but if your first thoughts was this movie aimed to obsolete POM's movie, then you are wrong. Yes, it's faster but another ROM version is used.
We've heard many rumors about Minus world -1 could be beaten and that Worlds -2, -3 and -4 exist. But in NES and Unisystem versions, the level is repeating when you enter the pipe at "end" of level. We've seen hoaxes like that but nothing proved us it was true. Except - 4, -2 and -3 really exist. After you beat -3, the game has been beaten once. Some people are claiming that you must deliver the princess to beat the game. I am saying, I saved 2 princesses. In any case, I think I should compare it to some Zelda glitched runs where some goals hasn't been achieved.
Note that when you beat the game, level select and 2nd quest modes are activated. So, I purposely stop the movie later to press B to return to title screen to let people verify by themself.

adelikat: Accepting for publication.
Bisqwit: … as a concept demo. This will not obsolete Pom's movie, not the least because it's a different game with different rules. (The differences in the games (NES SMB1, FDS SMB1) are completely unintentional and driven by the platform change, but striking in this particular movie.)
Bisqwit: Processing.

Erm, necrovmx? I think the behavior you're refering to is called 'sarcasm', not 'passive-aggressive'. And what does mass, an interesting topic, have to do with this?

Sarcasm is just one of possible ways to behave passive-aggressively.

This run technically does complete the game..just in a completely different, unexpected way. This should definetly not obsolete Pom's run. It should either be placed alongside it, or added as a concept demo.

Phil, cancelling this submission is one of the most immature acts I have seen on this site. Somone doesn't want to agree with you that another submission is PERFECT. Shocker. Rather than handle with situation with civility, you cancel all your submissions and say you won't contribute to the site (again). You are too old to be acting this immature. People look up to you and your runs, why not try to set a decent example for others? Not everyone will agree with you all the time. It might be a good idea to learn how to deal with these situations that don't make a fool out of you and the community. Maybe after you cool down from your hissy fit, you will realize that nobody disagreed that the OTHER run was flawless. Just that it is not possible to PROVE a run is perfect. This is a situation that should not have gotten this out of control.

I will demote Phil back to regular user, removing judging and publishing permissions. (Funny thing how Phil unintentionally predicted this by misquoting DonamerDragon.) Reasons: - Power and immature acts don't work well together. It's as if handing a drunk man a gun. - It's been a long time since Phil has exercised those powers anyway; he has, though, submitted numerous excellent-quality TASes which he is free to still do. Edit: Scratch that, Phil acted in understanding that I didn't trust his judgement [on his movie quality]; not because his concept of "perfect" was not agreed with. The language barrier strikes again :-/

Though I've already told adelikat this: I do not think it is any more "mature" to uncancel Phil's submission, when he clearly doesn't want to do so himself, than for Phil to cancel this submission in the first place.

What Bothers me is that This and other great submissions has been in the que for a while like some sonic games, and other great games. Yet, Circus charlie gets published right away. What was the hurry to publish that movie and not others movies like this one?

Vatchern: Maybe it has something to do with people complaining we only publish Megaman and Mario runs and leave the other ones sitting in the queue.

I didn't noticed those posts before... adelikat: That's not the point. If I want to cancel a submission, I have the rights. Imo, you weren't fair to uncancel it.

I can easily create my site or like SDA, upload my movies at archive.org. What's that mentality that everyone must submit their runs here.

Do you know that there exist a world all around you? I can easily create my site or like SDA, upload my movies at archive.org. What's that stupid mentality that everyone must submit their runs here.
Phil, I think he meant that you should try to have a positive attitude around the forum and since other respect you, you will receive positive feedback from them. But since sometimes you have a Negative attitude, you receive negative feedback. So, can you try to be more positive for your fans and the site?

I think this run could be used as a base for "hard" SMB runs, beat the minus world to unlock hard difficulty, run normally through the game until you beat 8-4.

Wouldn't a hard run of SMB be the same time as a non-hard run?

When can we expect the run to finish processing?

Before christmas. No seriously, it usually takes something between a few hours to a few days, depending on how busy I am and how much work it is (for computers and me) to handle the particular movie.

This movie has been published. The posts before this message apply to the submission, and posts after this message apply to the published movie. ---- [782] FDS Super Mario Bros. "-3 stage ending" by Phil in 02:58.20

I found this run very... interesting to say the least. The two princesses in -1 made me laugh. All in all just a completely bizarre way of "finishing" the game. Bizarre but very fun to watch. Very nicely done.

Level -2 is the same as 2-2, isn't it?
