This time,me and vsmk3 dicided to beat previous run. We found some interesting glitches that they are useful in the game. So we were very sure the obsolete previous run can be saved more and more time.
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Abuses programming errors
  • No passwords
  • Manipulates luck
Obsoletes previous run by 6030 frames / 100.5 seconds(game time : 3762.text time : 2268) Time: 134063 frames / 37:14 Minutes Re-Record Count : 29148
Our route:Cloud-Junk-Freeze-Burst-Slash-Spring-Shade-Turbo
Intro – 4 frames gained
Cloud – 243 frames lost Because no danger wrap weapon.
Junk – 373 frames gained We improved Bablo's glitch. Thanks Bablo who discovered the trick. The new glitch had been used "sliding on R.JET through the wall ".
Freeze – 967 frames gained Most of the frames gained came from boss battle,we did a entertraining trick before against the boss.
Burst – 166 frames gained The R.JET was very important in the stage.Etc through the bomb, take damege zip the wall.
Slash – 70 frames gained Nothing special in the stage.
Spring – 261 frames gained Two new techniques had been used. One of the techniques was the same in the junk stage. The other was "fly+jump?".I don't know how to describe it,but I think you will like it.
Shade – 11 frames gained Nothing special in the stage.
Turbo – 43 frames gained Nothing special in the stage
Wily1 – 90+120 frames gained The 120 frames lost at bass battle text.In fact it is total 210 frames gained in the stage, because we should caculate frames in game action, not text.
Wily2 – 35+263 frames gained The same situation as wily1.263 frame lost at bass battle text.
Wily3 – 339 frames gained Using some new glitches in the stage.
Wily4 – 742 frames gained Most of the frames gained in cloud and Spring.
Wily5 – 519 frames gained better weapon usage.
vsmk3:
The screenshot I want to use
I think Japan version is more enrertainment than USA version.
USA version deleted the funny information when you selected stage.
And this is another example : http://vsmk3.myweb.hinet.net/RockMan7.png
It seems USA version didn't have the dialogue with Roll and Auto. (I used to use J Rom,almost never played this game with U rom so I just do some tests, not very sure)
I think the dialogue with Roll and Auto is more entertainment than Dr.Light. Too bad it's much longer than Dr.Light,so I can't show that in this movie.

adelikat: Despite the suspect version change, I am accepting this for publication to obsolete the current mega man 7 run.

I hope everyone realizes that responding to his criticism with questioning only furthers the exposure of this repeated argument. Though in this instance, I do think it's strange that zipping through walls as Knuckles is a lot more entertaining than as Mega Man to NecroVMX. Such inconsistencies such as this might lead people to think he has a vendetta against the Mega Man series, and take his votes less seriously overall. Perhaps this isn't a concern to him. xebra: After looking up a couple words in your sentence, and asking you to explain the McCarthy reference to me, I've concluded that you've been given false information. Bag: what's this "Invalid Session" spam doing in your normal spam?

Okay, now, the REAL point is that we shouldn't be punishing people who find and use glitches effectively, because that takes a lot of brainpower! Why punish brainpower???!??? Invalid Session. Agreed. Still not sure what this "Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form." stuff is all about though.

Actually, I am quite a lot cleverer than you give me credit for (which is odd, as you don't know me, or have ever talked to me and are therefore in no position to guage my cleverness) I just don't like it, take that as you will (or take it anally for all I care) and I'll vote no on my movies that don't entertain me. Bringing other games (especially games from a completely different series) into the argument is pointless and is very much comparing apples and oranges, It makes perfect sense for me to like zipping in one game and not in another, as it's entertaining in a game that is ALREADY purely based on speed, and not at all entertaining in a mega man game. As for the absolutely retarded notion of me having a "vendetta against the mega man series" if you've read my posts in the other two rockman threads, you'll know this isn't true, as a matter of fact I generally enjoy playing mega man games a lot more than say, sonic games. You could feel free to call me "negative" for daring to vote no on a run I don't like (gasp!) as long as you're aware the consequences of this is me calling you "balls out retarded" which is arguably a worse thing to be called.

NecroVMX, perhaps people call you negative because you are abrasive and abusive, attempt to justify your irrational behavior with poor attempts at reasoning, and generally come across as a big dick. JXQ, "cleverer" is a real word, T.T ... good call on the misspelling, though! There are lots of grammar and punctuation errors in there, but I think it's beyond the scope of this discussion to provide a comprehensive list.

Cleverer is a word? Well I'll be damned. I guess I lose this round.

Abrasive? Don't care Abusive? I've abused nobody. My "irrational behavior" as you call it is merely disagreeing with you. I'm not going to vote yes on runs that I dislike watching, as it says right on the damn poll "Did you enjoy watching this movie?" I didn't, I voted no. There is no irrationality to be had there. I fail to see "poor attempts at reasoning" when I've explained it flat out numerous times. I'll try it in caps. I DON'T LIKE THIS RUN, I VOTED NO. HURRRR.

So is the reason you dislike zipping in mega man that it's ugly, or that it's fast? Because if the reason you dislike it is that it's ugly, consider that there is much, much uglier glitching in an S3K run that you voted yes on. And if the reason you dislike it is that it's fast, consider that this is a forum for tool assisted speedruns where it is encouraged to do whatever is necessary (outside of cheat codes) to decrease the amount of time necessary to complete the game.

It's an error message that has occured in several of Bag of Magic Food's most recent posts. It has nothing to do with the movie.

Fair question. I dislike it because it's ugly. Of course ugly is in the eye of the beholder, and I don't find the glitches in S&K to be nearly as intrusive to the watching experience. I also have an issue with realism, meaning that I think that these runs should look like something that could be done by a person on a console, if they had godlike reflexes and knowledge of the game. Sonic games are glitchy enough that you don't need to do much on a real genesis to glitch the screen like crazy. Of course you're still comparing apples to oranges, as this thread is about Rockman 7, not Sonic and Knuckles.

It all comes back to "because this game is Mega Man". Your many other arguments with people here about MM1 was that the game was being broken by so many glitches and wasn't entertaining. That was what you repeatedly said. Obviously S3&K is a different game than MM1, but there are striking similarities that show conflicting interests from you when you vote no on MM1, but yes on S3&K. I'm no longer taking your votes/posts seriously. You were fine with me until you decided to try and invent some logic behind your voting pattern instead of just saying it was the way you felt. I know you don't care what I think, and blah blah how dare I come up with such ridiculous claims, and how wrong I am about your intentions, and how you have the right to vote "no" and on and on and on and whatever. No need to repeat it yet again, as it's not changing what I've said here.

Well I only watched it once with the .avi, which I had to keep fiddling with to keep the sound synced (does that not get checked before it gets published? meh). Anyway, some thoughts: In Freeze Man's stage, in that area with all those icicle baddies on the ceiling, and you have to do a really big jump over some spikes. I'm guessing it might be quicker to use junk sheild to destroy the icicle baddie above that spike pit, making it drop its icicle onto the spikes and allowing yourself to cross it with two smaller jumps. On the first Slash Man battle, did you check if it was possible to hit him so that he only does one 'wall kick' to get to the ceiling? It's a bit faster if I recall correctly.

All I could think while watching this run was "The music and sounds of this game are a disgrace to the Mega Man series."
What, would you rather it have the same kind of music from the X-series? MM7 has some of my favorite music from a Mega Man game. =(

I did some tests just before, lag was one of the question, and I thought it doesn't save lots of time. But I agree with you that it might be a good way to cross on the spikes in the area.

What's weapon could hit him? I had used junk sheild or ice,but I can't hit him. DeHackEd,this run takes damage not takes no damage. And thanks you published the movie. :)

That's something which, with H264, varies based on CPU power. Slower CPUs get audio desyncs and faster ones don't.
