Dokapon Monster Hunter is an RPG based on the premise of Rock-Paper-Scissors. Both attacking and defending have a standard type, a rock type, a scissors type and a paper type. The main character, Hero, has finally turned 11 years old and is now about to become an adventurer! An adventure far greater than anyone could imagine...
Recorded with VBA-rerecording-19.2
   * Does not take any damage
   * Aims for fastest time
   * Heavily manipulates luck
   * Kills all bosses in one round of combat (Attack and defense)
Normally, you have to find the stairs to the next level for each dungeon. Thankfully, Hero won't have to look far as all stairs are manipulated to be close by. As well, Hero doesn't have to worry about any of those scary looking monsters in the dungeons... none of them ever get close enough to fight!
A few key points to completing the game:
  • Right away, I go to options to set text speed to Fast and to turn off Battle Animation. This saves a ton of time.
  • Stealing from the shop early is done to create guards in town. Normally, guards will kill you extremely quickly but in this case they're a massive amount of experience. Over half of the game's leveling up is from the first guard killed.
  • BossMole is manipulated into dropping IronCraw, a weapon powerful enough that I can kill both bosses in Forest in one attack
  • Barrel is picked up on the last floor of Circus. This allows me to kill the Circus boss in one hit
  • Mask-S is picked up in the second visit to Forest. Although cursed, the curse never effects Hero and the Fallback ability proves invaluable!
Pauses in movement and text-scrolling are done for manipulation purposes.

Truncated: After one month and a request for people to give feedback, there has still only been four votes, half of which have been No. I can only conclude that there isn't much interest in seeing this game.
It somewhat pains me to reject another of your runs, since have both been of high quality.

As far as I could tell (having never played the game), this was a very well done movie. Very good luck manipulation. Even though it was hard for me to understand what was going on, this movie kept my attention. Yes.

Thanks. Glad to see the luck manipulation looks good, as the vast majority of the game was merely making sure the stairs were close. I used brute force, basically, checking one frame at a time. Often times I would be juggling between two and four different possible layouts across multiple floors within savestates and would follow each path through until one came out as the fastest path.

This game is just one bad dungeon crawler. And you obviously did your research on this game, so to reward you with your suffering, I must say this. Yes vote. BTW, I recommend a different shot. I personally found the joke early in the game about "of course you say yes, otherwise the game wouldn't go on!" funny. ^^;;

Any other feedback? I think this has sort of fallen into obscurity at the bottom of the pile. :(

I would also want some more feedback on this. 2 votes makes it hard to judge. I watched it, and this game is not for me. It was nice that the level-up sequence was very short, but mostly it consists of talking (which you can't read) and standing around, and very little action.

I'll watch this. Will comment here afterwards. EDIT -- ...well...it seemed very well optimised and planned, i'll give you that, well done! The game, however, is pretty unimpressive. The colours were pleasing and the music wasn't painful, but the concept was very basic. I read your submission text and you described it as being "based on the premise of rock-paper-scissors", which connotates boredom in my mind and I prepared myself for a boring movie. I can say that this wasn't as boring as I thought it would be, however, the game is far too long to stay entertaining. I want to vote yes because the movie is well done, but it doesn't make a good TAS. In short -- + Very well run. Pretty game. - Too long for its concept. Monotonous. Bad game for TASing. I hope you do make more movies and I really look forward to them. Why don't you take a look in the FAQ at the 'List of Ideas' for some better titles? Voting No.
