And I'm almost positive that there is no way these infamous frame rules make you lose more than 24 frames \o/ Good job guys, good luck on finishing it, and I can't wait for the final product ^^

Glad you guys are still working on it. Good luck and hope you save even more frames before finishing the run!

Hey guys! Thought I would post a heads up on what's going on currently... As you may know, bahamete, Kaizoman, and myself are currently working on a refined any% run using this new strategy. However, I would like to introduce Mister to the team!! He has contributed much to Yoshi Island 1 as well as many minor improvements within our run. It is an honor to have him a part of this project :) Progress is going great now, as we finally reach Yoshi's Island 1. Even though there were a few bumps along the way, I am proud to announce that we are currently 24 frames ahead of our previous run as of the exit of Yoshi's Island 3, thanks to further optimizations throughout those two levels. This gives us a little "cushion" for the sub 10 minute mark, since I am almost positive we will lose some time later through the run due to Super Mario's World annoying yet infamous frame rules (as seen in our previous run). Expect more updates in the near future!!
Good luck with the run, I'm impressed with the new strategy. I will look forward to submission.

Yes, but they're using it to make the goal sphere appear instead, skipping all of Iggy's castle.

I've seen wow, just ShamWoW. Link to video My Polish friend, recorded a movie, when his Luigi has been not stopped by time! Glitch might be useless, but for playaround it's the best. So you see, 1st you must to have Yoshi, be Small Mario/Luigi and have a mushroom in a box. When the time goes to the end, discard mushroom from the box, and if the time will be 0, do the Yoshi eat a mushroom. Now ya can go through this level with NO TIME. :>

With 90 Time? Time will go up by 20-30. But IDK with time 0.

The bug is pretty well-known and I think it works similarly with a green berry. A funnier application is when Yoshi swallow-timer reaches zero on the same frame time runs out when Mario only has one life and 99 coins (it's a confusing setup haha) - the result is we get a "Game Over" screen and still return to the Overworld like normal :p

Ok I'm was planning to keep this a secret, but aparently a lot of people already know, so here it is: I'm doing a 96exits+All Dragon Coins with Markus (MRO314). The run originaly was meant to be posted only on youtube (on my channel and his), but having the chance to post here is more of a bonus. I asked DarKkobold if a new category for this run could be created, he said to ask the community to see what they think about it. The run will be done with or without TASvideos supporting it, because I originaly started to do something diferent, a diferent run, but on SMW (because for me is the best ROM). Then I ask, what you guys think about a run like this?

What's the point of getting all of the Dragon Coins? Does the ending change at all? I think it will be entertaining to watch nonetheless, even on YouTube. But I'm not sure about the goal choice.

Do not do an all Dragon Coins run on the SNES version. Few levels have them, and it's not even saved after a soft reset. If you're going to do an all Dragon Coins run, do it on the GBA - it's one of the few things that makes it really unique over the SNES version. The GBA version has 5 Dragon Coins in all 72 (?) main levels except Bowser's Castle, they're saved permanently to the save file, and a special cutscene is displayed upon getting all 360 (?) of them. Also, some of the Dragon Coins, especially in the later levels, are in out-of-the-way areas so such a run would display more of the game.

I know about the GBA version, but I hate that game, it sucks in so many ways. Plus ISM already did a run for All Yoshi's Coin on GBA :/

DarKk said the same thing, that's why I'm asking what the community think, specially because this run I was doing anyways....

Any reason why ISM isn't submitting it?[/quote] It's on nico nico douga, but the user 300misao300 have it uploaded on youtube. I asked bahamete and he said it was probably from ISM, but even if it's not his, it has a excelent quality, doing a run for all dragon coins when the previous run is really awesome would be a waste of my time :x. I mean, I don't want to do a run to optimize a few seconds. I want to be the first to do a run of this kind on SMW :3

So nothing happens at the end if you get all of the Dragon Coins? That makes it sound like an arbitrary goal, and I don't think it would be accepted.

on GBA something special happens, but on SMW I don't know actually... I will find out, like I said, I come to ask the community because DarKk told that he might change his mind over the discussion here

ISM planned the all dragon coins TAS originally in SMW, but a few problems made him quit this project. He pointed them out in his blog; the summary is like this: a) The existence of dragon coin glitch. This is so serious because it would enable us to get yoshi wings in almost all the levels, and to collect dragon coins in the sky levels. b) The game can't save the collected dragon coins, as Zowayix pointed out above. These problems make it difficult to understand the "all dragon coins" goal. Possible goals are maybe: 1) To collect all possible dragon coins including those in the sky level; 2) To collect at least five dragon coins in each level which possesses dragon coins. The first one is impossible, because we can get a yoshi wing in VS2 but we don't have time long enough to pull it off. The second is also impossible since, for example, SW3 has no dragon coins in the usual level, but 4 dragon coins in the sky level. The other goals may be so arbitrary. The problems are all solved in SMA2. That's why ISM made his SMA2 run. EDIT: you can get his test movies on yoshi wings, in this entry.
