I can think of a few NES games I played as a youngster that haven't been done yet:
- The Guardian Legend
- Amagon
- Life Force
- River City Ransom (on hard mode)
- Abadox
- Dragon Warrior 2
DW3 would be too, but it can't be done because you need to hard reset the game to get a necessary item.
fuwafuwa was working on a Gauntlet run, but the desyncs in Famtasia made him drop it. Dunno if he's gonna do it now (hell, don't even know if FCEU is any better)...

So, make a set of movies. First one records from reset, new ones from relevant savestates. It's not perfect, but better a cumbersome movie than no movie at all
I've beaten DW3 on an emulator without a single save. You would just have to start the town early and drop by later to pick up the orb. The town grows with normal passing of time (actually, probably with character steps).

you are totally wrong about the yellow orb on DW3
the various stages of the town are determined by getting partiular items: purple orb, sword of gia, and some others. you dont even need to visit the town periodically. just get the 1st four orbs and the sword of gia. go to the town and repeatedly go in and come out, and the town will be built up each time you enter.
no reset is required nor a certain amount of footsteps.
The problem with speed running DW3 is that the random generator is different than the other DW's. You can't manipulate luck to get crital hits everytime or to avoid random encounters. Timing does not affect the outcome of events.
Well, lesse... here's the list of stuff I, personally, still wanna see. Whether or not they'd all make good runs is subject to debate. Some of these I just wanna see the later stages/endings of but could never beat the things on my own. Topping the list?
Athena
Jurassic Park
Alien 3
Beetlejuice
Godzilla
Godzilla 2
Kickle Cubicle
Mighty Bomb Jack
Rainbow Islands
SMB2 (Full Run)
Gargoyle's Quest II
The Guardian Legend
...And that's just what I have on hand. >_>;
The levels of Kickle Cubicle would look great. However, I'm pretty sure that literally over half of the movie would be transferring between levels, and it would make it horrible.
Bob has an almost completed run of Mighty Bomb Jack but stopped because he didn't think it was entertaining and he couldn't figure out how to beat the game.
You subjected me to the horror that is Athena recently- very funny, but I don't think it would make much of a run.
I second Beetlejuice, Rainbow Islands, and SMB2.
As always, other movies I want to see are here: http://tasvideos.org/Blechy.html
I think Beetlejuice would take a lot of annoying luck manipulation, to always give the most lucrative beetles. Didn't get very far in it, but I do remember that much...
And Guardian Legend is one of my all-time favorite NES games, but I'm not so sure how entertaining it would be. Though it would be crazy to figure out the optimal route, I will say that.

I would say my top NES pick would be the SMB2 full run. Low-G man could be interesting, particularly if powerups could be manipulated. That was what always made it tough, there was so much you could do but you got what you wanted.

Ya, you don't need a reset for that orb. I actually got that orb last. I kept going in and out of the town and it grew about 4 times. I didn't know that the people say different things each time so I was just trying to get the town fully built quickly. Then when I went in the last time, my merchant was in jail and I was like WTF?
Anyway, long story short, I can confirm that no hard reset is needed in DWIII
I'm looking for a game to try my first movie with, and Kickle Cubicle was an idea, but i believe that the formation of the ballons and the destrustion of the level for all the levels would make it long/boring.
With all the re-releases of FFI and FFII, a speed/luck run of those might be fun to try.
I think the gameplay of Kickle Cubicle can be pretty fun to watch since you can perform some really quick moves in the game with the emulator. The transitions are terrible, but FCEU does have a fast-forward buttons to help out there.
Try this, a run I made of the first world:

The El Viento TAS is the only decent thing I submitted here.
If i was to do kickle, i'd release a modified AVI without all the transitions...just my opinion. I'd release the emulation vid also.
American Gladiators takes President. (SP?)
Precedence.
EDIT: Okay, I'll say something else seeing how this is my 100th post. Although, that would be kind of funny. "What was your 100th post?", "Precedence."
Anyway, is there a tutorial for doing 2-player games? Meaning, there's only one player but two characters being controlled. I would like to try 8 Eyes (eventually) but it can't be entertaining enough without some badass bird action.
