I've tried making movies for both Mega Man X and Legend of the Mystical Ninja now, and in both the bosses use different attack patterns than they took when I was recording so my movie doesn't work. Can anybody help me out with this?

Off the top of my head, only a few things could be causing this: -Are you using a ROM that is being altered by an outside file (patches, etc)? -Are you starting your recordings from reset with no SRAM bound to the ROM? -Are you recording with certain settings (WIP Timing or left/right enabled, per se) and playing back with different settings?

Use WIP timing (or use the 1.43 prerelease labeled "wip" or "dev", same thing) as the full version of 1.43 or running without WIP timing results in some desync due to changes in how the sound is emulated and not properly saved. If you are using 1.51, I cannot comment.

I am running 5.1. Would it be a better idea to run 1.43? Also, I did record from reset with no SRAM bound to either ROM. Is this favorable? I tried saving the SRAM data on both ROMs just in case it is, but got error messages on both. EDIT: I don't know if this helps any, but if I load a savestate taken right before the boss, it still works fine.

It seems Snes9x 1.51 inherited from 1.43 Final that sound desync problem DeHackEd mentioned, so switching to 1.43 WIP 1 would probably help. You can download a modified version of it here, which many Snes9x movies on this site have used.

Just what I feared from 1.51 all the time. It's unknown in recording behavior due to not enough tests, and it seems to have more desync issues than 1.43+ with WIP1 timing. :-(

1.43+ seems to work fine nitsuja. Thanks everyone!

However, I haven't heard of anyone getting a desync when recording a SuperScope or SNES Mouse game. Perhaps simply turning on the Super Scope before recording a 1-player movie in 1.51 would eliminate desync...

Probably, but I guess it would also make the smv size bigger and the recording structure more complex. Of course I don't know anything about it, but it's just a logical thought.
