Unfortunately due to your quick and decisive posting, you actually misquoted me BEFORE I managed to edit into my post (which was around 1min after) into stating that I don't actually know the code. I was hoping that you'd notice before you started quoting me left right and center.

To which a more secretive response would be something like "I'm aware of this code's existance, but I have been told that its being kept secret and as such wouldn't go down well being displayed in a TAS" Sorry I indirectly got you in trouble :)

Well that's just great. I've managed to piss several people off because I posted a minute early. It seems thats my mild bad-thing for this week.

Question is though... would you have posted any different regardless of what I corrected?

If you would've stated, before I posted, that you didn't know the code. I would have said nothing related to it. The manner in which you posted before you edited, sound along the lines of "I know the code, you don't.. NEHH" to me. Oh well, not much I can do now.

Save the drama... Seriously, this doesn't belong here. Wait for the official (FINAL) release, then start TASing. Bugs now may not be bugs later.

Well, I don't think it's a bad idea to get the feel of TASing it, since a majority of the levels are basically done. If there are bugs, they will be fixed, but that'd really be the only difference in terms of TASing it now and TASing it when it's complete. Realistically speaking, it will never be "truly" complete, so I figure it's now or never. Simply list your TASes as runthroughs of v3.0, v2.0, etc etc, just so people know which you actually ran though.

That sounds like a plan. I could keep the first topic up-to-date with recordings from the different versions. Probably begin a new topic for it, recover the recordings from here then leave this to gather dust. Too much drama and stuff has happened in here. That is of course if there are no objections..

Nah dude, I say as long as you gather all information necessary for a "1st post recap" type of thing, giving all the knowledge learned from this topic in the new topic, then I say go for a "fresh" start.

This will be the "official" topic for all runs to do with the On-going fan-hack Sonic 1 Megamix by Team Megamix. This first post is simply a catalog of all recordings done by users and for which Megamix. It is requested that new recorders of this hack start their recording from a blank SRM file and adjust the preferences in the recording. Any recordings which require pre-set settings will be labeled appropriately (This is due to recovery from the previous Topic) This file will set the settings for marked runs, remember to watch this recording on a blank SRM file Any recordings that are faster than the current will be posted up first, and all recordings that are beaten will fall into the archive category, so viewers can see what we have come from. They shall also fall into TWO categories.. "All Emeralds" and "No Emeralds" +Sonic 1 Megamix 2.0+ Theoretically no runs from this version should be done, however if they are, for whatever reason, they will be accepted. +Sonic 1 Megamix 3.0+ --All Emeralds-- [Sonic] Playtime: 30m 53s Player: DDRKhat (Requires Pre-Config) [Shadow] Playtime: 20m 59s Player: emu (Requires Pre-Config) [Mighty] Playtime: 31m 4s Player: DDRKhat (Requires Pre-Config) --No Emeralds-- [Sonic] Not Done [Shadow] Not Done [Mighty] Not Done +Archive+ No records have been bested in time yet.
WOW, I really like your idea for having the recent runs and archived runs in two different places, as well as stating the directions once and for all with the SRM data... I was following the other topic and I was was confused as hell XD

Here's some .gmv's of going through the loop-de-loops: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1623936454/Sonic%201%20Megamix%20v3%20testing.gmv http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/986529954/Sonic%201%20Megamix.gmv http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1381262760/Sonic%201%20Megamix%20v3.gmv
If you could just explain how to go through the loops, it would be alot nicer than having to watch a recording and trying to figure it out. Then again I am guessing it will be something to do with typical Sonic Psychics, moving too fast for the clipping to register, so you ignore the solidity?

I have no idea. That could be it. When I showed them to Upthorn he was able to deduce what was going on better than I.

Sure, having two topics looks pretty rediculus, but with ~2 pages of arguments that cannot be removed unless every person deletes the text in the message for every message within the argument, there is no way to keep that topic on topic. Eventually the old topic will either get deleted, or, more likely, moved to page two once other topics are started or posted in, thus eliminating the rediculousness of two topics. Another good idea for the new topic was to organize everything talked about in the old topic into a general, definitive area in this new topic. Could this have been done as an edit to message 1 of the old topic? Yes. Would it have been redundant and confusing if the reader tried to read posts on page 2 (iirc) about the SRM data? Hell yes. Do i think this should happen for every topic? No. But because it happened with Sonic MegaMix so I say just let it go and deal for this one specific incident. This new topic is easy to read and understand, and had a lack of arguments up until yesterday, so, upthorn, please back off DDRKhat and stop initiating arguments, and DDRKhat please stop arguing back to upthorn. Now, kiss and make up :-* EDIT: wording edits, w00t

If we stay in this topic, you should edit your first post, DDRKhat ;3 XD

Well I would watch and figure out whats going on in those recordings, however they require a save-state which I do not have. so I am unable to view them.

Usually in cases where the "one topic per game" rule is not observed, the new topic gets merged back into the old topic as soon as bisqwit notices. You could request that the argument be split out into an off-topic thread, though

hi all, I'm new here, I've started a WIP run and decided to post it. my TASing experience isn't really what I would consider "good", but I'm not horrible either. I've loved sonic games ever since I was a kid, and this hack just blew my mind :D so I had to try it. this is my WIP: Click Only the first zone is complete, though I think I did pretty good, I will work on the rest of the levels later and post my progress. and here is a little Real-time action (me playing at 100% only used a few savestates):Click

Could you please state which character this is, and if you're going for all emeralds or no emeralds?
