Guide principle

  • Aims for fastest time
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Uses death as shortcut
  • Manipulates luck

Improvement

It is 106 seconds improvement on basic of Ferret Warlord's run.Thanks Ferret Warlord firstly.
I think I can reduce 30 seconds from the beginning.But after making my run,I find I can do better than plan.I don't select "ROCK&ROLL",I select "CAPT.GRID-IRON" instead of him,because I think boxing and jumping is more important than gun.
The second improvement is Manipulates luck.I can level up without wasting much time by Manipulates luck.
The Third improvement is the uses of tool.Sometimes,I think it is much faster if we don't use tool.Then we can reduce time to find tool.
The fourth improvement is route.I change the route on basic of Ferret Warlord's run in some place.It can help me reduce some time.
The fifth improvement is using death as shortcut.In the last stage.I make ROCK&ROLL die.Then I appear at the begin.

PS

I submitted this run some days ago.But it is 6.6 seconds slower than this run.I find there is a big problem in the last stage.I selected the wrong place when using death as shortcut.I have revised it.I think it maybe can help Shadow Byrn and Ferret Warlord.Good luck!

Watching now: as I watch Mission 1: 1st boss - you completely miss with a grenade! I hope it was for manipulation purposes. 3rd boss - lol, dead before hitting ground! Mission 2: Again with damage in the helicopter! Why? More manip? Or lag reduction? Mission 3 - love the manipulation! How were you able to do that anyways? We couldn't seem to get it to go our way... However you really seem to like to just take damage while in a vehicle. The wall-climbing thing again... Mission 4: On the bomb stage it looks like when you go charging through the walls, you generate lag when you kill them so quickly. It also appears that Snake Eyes is hitting the walls ever so briefly. Once again Snake Eyes' "gun" isn't the most powerful, yet you use him to take out the 2 bosses. Reason? Mission 5: I like how you use the over-big hitbox on the wall-crawler (just what the heck is that thing anyways!) Efforts should be taken to lag reduce on the bomb level. Bomb level boss: you take a few hits? And drop useless grenades? More manipulation? Destro was done well. Just out of curiosity do you think it would be possible to drop him before he leaves the screen when fighting 1 on 1? Mission 6: Still like the deathwarp. But why no weapon power manipulation? The boss would go LOTS quicker with 2-4 times the bullets coming at him. Also some shots from the upper stream miss Cobra Commander. Sorry if this looks nit-picky. This just happens to be all I saw...

Yes. Grenade can help us attack in advance. It just hits BOSS when BOSS appears .It is better using grenade if BOSS doesn’t appear at the beginning..

You are right. Helicopter shoots much bullet. It will create lag.

~~~~Luck? Inspiration? Or others.
Each bullet (Snake Eyes) can only hit one HP. Each bullet (others) can only hit two HP .And each punch can hit 9-10 HP. The use of punch and weapon is 6:1.Although my weapon is weak ,I can compensate in four frame. Because we box every four frame. We will lost more frame if changing man. And we here we need Snake Eyes’s jumping.
Yes .I want to reduce the heigh of BOSS’s head.
We will not always get ”gun” after finishing enemy. It depend on the attribute of enemy. As you look ,I finish BOSS in only two seconds. Is not necessary spend one second to get ”gun”.
Wow, punches do more damage than guns. o_o Nintendo logic is awesome.
Indeed. Punching is MUCH better. Especially when compared to bullets, foot-ball grenades, lazer rings, flame throwers, and whatever you call Snake Eyes' gun! My little nit-picky things weren't all that big, probably talking about frame-shaving here.
As I watch this movie I'm reminded of the simple rabbit. Not to say a rabbit with a simple mind. But just a default rabbit because of the multitude of jumping. The game is very colourful, but I've never played it. I am not entirely sure why "Government Issue Joe" feels the need to run through these places with giant purple dildos (see: back massagers). And how can he punch a plane to its destruction? And he surely doesn't like that dragon thing. I digress. The game itself isn't in question. The run itself is. It seems to be well done and mildly entertaining. I'd give a yes vote! If I could vote, that is. Thank you for your run, xipo.
OH MY GOD on the last stage you made Rock'n Roll DIE? :( Message to xipo: I'm just kidding, on the submission text it sounded like you killed music (rock'n roll). But it is good to kill character and save time, good job.
I just found out about and watched your improvement of G.I. Joe and it is one of the best Tas's i've ever seen. Great strategies, routes, makes use of more characters and grenades, and dying on the last level with Rock&Roll was a great strategy. Amazing job. If you or anyone else is interested I have a speed run of this game on SDA. I was not aware of your run when I made my run but I did have Farret Warlord's run and went off a lot of his strategies. After watching your run I see a lot of strategies I can use to improve this run though. So I will likely improve this run in the near future. http://speeddemosarchive.com/GIJoe.html
