Ok, there have been worse topics in this section. I actually think this topic could be pretty fun. What is your ideal sandwich? Food items only (no money/women sandwiches). I have 2 (ingredients are listed in order of importance): 1) Bacon and cream-cheese stuffed into a croissant 2) Bacon, grilled chicken, Ranch dressing, mix of melted swiss/cheddar, lettuce, tomato, thinly sliced red onions, a few pickles, pepper, 1 habanero on wheat french bread grilled to perfection. There's a sandwich at Subway (Chicken & Bacon Ranch) that comes close to this. FYI, I hate mustard, bbq sauce, mayo, and relish.

I had a peanut butter and bacon sandwich the other day, and it rocked. So I'm going with that.

I was just talking to mushroom and Boltr, and I would definitely like to try a sandwich with mushrooms and bell peppers in it. But then the ideal sandwich is becoming more and more like a pizza.

I don't prepare my own sandwiches mainly because any meal made by me doubles as an efficient poison. I often get a sandwich from subway, my ideal combination being: Italian bread baguette, chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, gherkins, peppers...everything other than olives. This should be smothered in sweet chili sauce. Yum. I'm also partial to a roast beef sandwich and christmas season specials (turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing on a sandwich).

I make an awesome barbecue chicken sandwich that is delicious beyond words. 1 skinless chicken breast, cut into strips Throw into frying pan, cover with equal portions of French's Horseradish Mustard and A1 Thick & Hearty Add two splashes of extra virgin olive oil Sprinkle generously with crushed red pepper Stir ingredients around the pan, mixing well while the chicken cooks When cooked to satisfaction, serve on a bun I also like to add chopped red onion and oregano.

Give me a steak and cheese (provolone) with a little salt and I'll be happy forever. I like to keep things simple.

I really like the home made club sandwich. Bacon, chicken, tomatoe, lettuce, Brown bread and Hellman's mayo.

Good ol' fashioned BLT. Or maybe the philly cheese steaks my mom makes. Either way.

Favorite sandwich that doubles as a heart attack: Jim's Philly Cheese steak (from Jim's on South Street in Philly). Whiz with onions and spicy mustard Favorite make it yourself sandwich: 3 slices sourdough bread (to make it a double decker), spicy brown mustard, mayo, ham, smoked turkey, cheddar cheese, olives, and a splash of vinegar. Press together slightly, and lightly grill to make the mayo and mustard flavors explode on your tongue. Enjoy. Add a couple pieces of bacon if that isn't quite enough, I've never tried it like that though.

Well, if hamburgers count for this topic, then just give me a Baconator from Wendy's (two 1/4 lb. patties*, two slices American cheese, mayonnaise, ketchup and 6 strips of bacon). What probably doesn't help the heart attack potential is that I eat this pretty much every day I work. Otherwise I would just like ham and swiss on wheat (or italian herb and cheese if I'm at Subway) with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. *Net weight before cooking

Bacon, lettuce, tomato, on white toast. No mayo. It's always been my favorite. Runner up: "The ultimate heart attack" Grilled white toast, 2 melted slices of swiss cheese, 4 slices of bacon, 4 slices of tomato, Thousand Island dressing, 3 onion rings. (Unfortunately, I can only make this one at work...) Runner-runner up: Peanut butter and honey.

Crispy deep-fried chicken fillet with lettuce, tomato, and a shitload of ranch sauce on a grilled garlic-brushed ciabatta bread, impaled with a toothpick to keep everything together. Also known as Denny's' Chicken Ranch Melt with no cheese.

Jimsfriend's post reminded me of a sandwich I made like 3 years ago. Turkey, peanut butter, honey and banana on sandwich bread = yum. I actually made a really awesome chicken salad sandwich today: chicken, onions, monterey jack cheese, apples, walnuts, mayo on a toasted bagel.

We have a little sandwich toaster (like a waffle iron) that can grill a sandwich to perfection. A personal favorite of mine is putting garlic mash potatoes, corn, and hot dogs (chopped) between two pieces of regular white bread, toasted till lightly brown with this machine. I can eat about 4 of these (8 pieces of bread), and have a huge smile on my face.

I don't usually make any big sandwiches myself, but I remember making a big "shrimp sandwich", as we call it in Sweden. It had shrimps, mayonnaise, slices of boiled eggs, and I think it had some tomatoes on it too. If you like shrimps, you should try it out! :)
