Mine would be NES. The simple animations make it easy to get a handle on the optimum time to execute a button press. Although it is more fun watching a fluid animated 16 bit game done really fast.

N64 is my clearcut favorite. Following that, snes and gba are my next favorite systems to TAS. I don't like TASing NES, Genesis, GB, or SMS.

By the end of the year I'll hopefully have published movies for each and every system, so ask me in a year:) (right now I'd say Genesis)

SNES without question. Harder to TAS than NES in most cases, but the movies often look more entertaining due to better graphics and more variety the complex games of SNES offer, making it worth the effort in the end. NES is second though. :-)

It is mostly a coincidence that I have made more Genesis movies than NES movies, because I like both a lot. I look forward to recording more NES stuff in some very distant future (or altenate future).

GBx. Never owned the real retro consoles. If GameCube and NDS emulators come out, I might use them, too.

SNES and GBX games. Mupen desynchs WAY TOO MUCH. I'm not familiar with any Genesis/SMS games. There are some things I dislike with FCEU. Like... you can't see when the movie you are watching ends, only how many frames that have been played so far.

I'm most comfortable messing around with SNES. GBx would be a close second.
Kirby said so, so it must be true. ( >'.')>

NES I could handle Gens and GBx as well, unsure about snes9x because of random desync issue.

I'm not big on TASing systems that extensively use 3D features. Also, emulators are a big factor here. I really like the way Gens works. Snes9x is pleasant as well.
