Much appreciated Mr Warlord. That is definitely the game I'm thinking of. It's a lot more.... blue than I remember.

Ah, this truly awesome thread has kept me from working for the last 30 minutes. And that's a good thing! Anyway, I too have memories of long forgotten names. The first one should be to Commodore 64: 1: You play as this small creature, maybe a pig? When I played this as a kid we always called the game "Rymdgrisen", which translated is Space Pig. Anyway, I remember two parts of the game. One is where you climb up a tower and jumps on blocks. The tower also rotates, like in Battle Toads. The second memory I have of this game is some sort of underwater level, or maybe flying in space. You are however flying/swimming as in any sidescroller game. Anyone knows what this game might be? Edit before posting it: My co-worker just found the game on youtube. It's called Nebulus and made me tear eyed :) Leaving the description of it because it was such an awesome game. Oh the memories. The other one is for Sega Master System, atleast I think it is. 2: You play as this kid perhaps, in a platform game. I remember a few levels only. One was an underwater level which I thought was incredible hard at the time. Another one had some sort of rocks involved. They either rolled at you and you had to jump over them, or they were falling down and you had to avoid them. The last level took place on the moon (?). This level was fairly short as I remember it and the last boss was the sun, or something that looks like a sun, or a star or whatever. Any ideas of what game this could be? Thank you very much in advance!

About the second one: maybe one from the Alex Kidd series? Although I've never played any of these games, MobyGames has some screenshots of water levels and one game even has the word "stars" in its title.

I'm afraid it is not Alex Kidd. Thank you very much though for the suggestion. I'll keep googling at youtube and see if I can find it.

There are several games and series matching your criteria, at least from what I can see on the pictures.. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/571081.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/571136.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/571266.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/571444.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/570940.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/588733.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/588754.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/571177.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/588801.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/588866.html

Ok, so how about this: It's a spaceship / shooting game, I think it was an arcade machine. Basically, you must proceed through nine (?) levels (of which I can't actually recall much), but the main idea behind the game was that the boss of each level was named after a planet in the solar system (i.e. Mercury, Venus, Mars, etc.). I'm pretty sure the bosses weren't exactly planets but had attributes that related to the planets? Maybe? I wish I could remember more. Hm, also remember the perspective being sort of behind the player...

Absolutely ridiculous, I search for years about info for this game, can't remember a damn thing about it, even play through as many NES Roms as possible, and still couldn't find it. And within an hour I get an easy answer. Thank you.

Alright, another request for you all. This one is another arcade sidescroller. In it, you play as a ninja (two if it's two player) who seems to be a bounty hunter because each boss is displayed on a wanted sign before each level begins. Bosses include a cowboy, a crooked cop, and a football player, each with an appropriately themed level. Attacking is done via throwing weapons, which change upon being picked up. Pick up the same weapon twice, and you'll get an upgraded version. Also, there's a third button that, when pressed, turns your ninja into a sheet of glass. This renders him invincible, but immobile. Any help would be appreciated. Edit: I should probably mention that the graphical style is extremely cartoony. Some of it almost looks like something Jim Davis would do/approve of. Edit: I just found it. It's called Charlie Ninja (severe AV desynch in that video, but it's all the internet has).
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

I feel a little guilty since I never know any games anyone else asks for... but I have two arcade games that I would like to find... Game 1: Platform game. You are some sort of white bulky robot, walking to the right in a tunnel. I think you attack by shooting some sort of missiles, possibly some other projectile. There is some sort of powerup which makes you larger, like twice the size. I remember thinking that this made it near impossible to dodge enemies. This game has to be really, really old. I think i saw it around 1988-90 somewhere. Game 2: This is some sort of platform fighting game. The defining trait is that you change between different characters (maybe the bosses you beat?). I remember only one stage, which was on clouds. I also remember only one character, which was - male - green in clothing - possibly had a visor or similar - moved forward by somersaulting/cartwheeling - had a really short attack, i think he attacked with a horizontal "judo chop" This game is later. Maybe mid-early nineties?

Truncated: Your first title, for some reason, reminds me of Act Fancer, with a greyish-white robot who collects powerups that make him bigger, but also give him more firepower. The second level is in a sort of tunnel as you described.

At first I was going to say that this is the wrong game, the robot looks nothing like I remembered and doesn't get as big as I remembered, but now I see that the red/blue ball powerups are extremely familiar... so I'm betting my memory is just warped and that this is the game. This is the second time you've known one of the games I've searched for... thanks a lot! :)

This is a really old PC game; The first stage, you played as a mecha with a homing laser and a limited number of missiles picked up later on in the level, with the setting being a mountain and its passageways, during the night, with the stars shining brightly. The second stage, you realize that your mecha can turn into an aircraft, which you need to get through numerous high, narrow spaces. Each time one defeats a boss per stage, they get a certain number of a powerful weapon from them. A lot of the enemies were different colored, geometric objects. The final boss of the entire game is a giant version of your own mecha, fought inside a cavern filled with lava. He's amazingly easy to destroy, especially considering how tough all the other bosses were. It might have been a DOS game, but I'm not a hundred percent certain of that.

I played a DOS game that was basically a (2D) animation-creation game in which Warner Bros characters and several items could be combined to form a short animation The 'player' could set all kinds of stuff like background and music on the timeline

I can think of a NES game that sort of fits that description: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiny_Toon_Adventures_Cartoon_Workshop I suppose there could've been a PC port. Or that you're talking about a completely different game entirely.

It's not the one I have in mind but its probably similar mine had larger characters (ratio to screen-height) and I'd say a more limited yet brighter palette (less 'detailed' textures... more cartoony)
