I was surfing the web about SMB3, and at themushroomkingdom.net I found out something. There are over a dozen "lost levels" in the coding of SMB3. Someone made an IPS patch that, when patched to an SMB3 ROM, allows you to play these "lost levels". http://themushroomkingdom.net/smb3_lost.shtml Would a TAS like this be accepted? I've already started on it, WIP for levels 1-3 levels 1-7 here: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/185879504/SMB3%20lost%20levels.fcm http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1975849503/SMB3%20lost%20levels.fcm

Unless you reseted in some levels (the ones that aren't exit-able) I think something like this could be put into the Concept Demos to show "lost levels" of this game. I still have the IPS patch on my SMB3 ROM somewhere, and I'll have to find it again.

Why wouldn't it be accepted if I reseted out of levels? There have been other accepted TASes that do a soft reset during them.

Well, they mostly are poor and short test levels and aren't official. I'll watch your movie sometime though...

That is very true. I do think that this MAY just work out. I might work on this, too.

Not exactly optimized in the first few levels and in map control, but others nice! Not exactly faster than Zowayiz's Level 1, but I went ahead and did it anyway. I figured out a kind of usless glitch that allows you to wall-jump off the tips of warp pipes. Oh well, It's worth a shot!

The lost levels are modified, they are not the originals. Mainly because it is necessary to modify them since they are missing exits. Unfortunately, the guy also decided to stick on a graphics hack.

girfanatic501, I think you are using a ROM hack of SMB3 called "Twisted Lost Levels", not the patch from themushroomkingdom.net that I used. And please don't misspell my name. By the way, I finished my movie. You can see it here: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/320529417/SMB3%20lost%20levels.fcm I have submitted this to TASvideos.

XD Sorry for the name thing. And no, I had downloaded the smae patch you did off of TMK. I must be using a different ROM though, because using Super Mario Bros. 3 (U) (PGR0) [!].nes with your movie told me I had the worng ROM.... which is the one people SHOULD be using :P. EDIT: Nice video! No complaints and I think this may make the Concept Demos section is you submit it!
