I think that I can use the zipping glitch you guys mentioned on the Air Man boss in Needle Man's Revisited Stage. When the force is pulling/pushing you to the left you would zip right and when the force is pulling/pushing you to the right it's the other way around.

I tried doing Doc Air Man using magnet zipping, and I don't think it actually saves time because in the currently published video the TASer still hits Doc Robot perfectly reaching the back door as he kills him, and magnet zipping would be equally fas. (magnet zipping is probably more entertaining, though). Also, I found this odd (and useless) glitch: if you slide, press back for 1 frame and press A the next, Mega Man will jump and face forward but the game thinks he's facing the other way, so if you shoot, the shots come out of Mega Man's back. Not terribly useful, but it might look funny if you do it during bossfights.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

I knew about that glitch already, but good find though. :)

Like my Mega Man 4 video, I made a TAS of pummeling all the bosses in Mega Man 3 in silly, glitchy and fun ways. Intended for entertainment over speed. You can see it here.

Hah! I never realized that so many of the robot masters in MM3 are weak against their own weapons! Using Needle Cannon against Needle Man is certainly easier than trying to hit him with Gemini Laser. I think my favorite bit was toying with Gemini Mans, though. Nice work!

Actually, all the bosses in Mega Man 3 take 4 per hit by their own weapons, which includes Top and Hard.

I like how you froze for about 5 seconds at the end of Hard Man, kinda bizarre.

That happens when you deal the last blow with Hard Knuckle and you don't have enough space between you and the boss to create a visible knuckle before it hits the boss. There's also a way to freeze forever which might've been an even nicer way to end the demo run above:)

Neat, I didn't know that! I don't think I would have used that as a finish since I like to end videos in a more literal sense, but I guess that's just different opinions in style. Thanks for that though!

interesting, didn't know either. Another rockman 3 "only" problem. It's fixed on the american version. the japanese version does not reset megaman's master control register $30, back to 00 when beating hardman. so that's why the game will freeze-up forever. because it's still set to 0F which in my RAM notes, is used to freeze mm for certain events.

I think that by switching to Top Spin after killing Top Man in the boss refights stage (Wily 4) I think that can save time and it would save even more time because I won't have to collect as many refills for the Shadow Blade at the end of this stage.

Then I suppose you've planned to take on the bosses in a different order? Because I can tell here and now that saving time by using Top Spin to defeat the last three bosses, in the current order, is something that even you won't manage:) Edit: After some thoughts about it, did you mayhaps mean to switch to Top Spin after finishing Spark Man instead of Top Man as you said?

I found the best time saver for Wood Man in Shadow Man's revisited stage: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1142902372/Rockman%203%20-%20Dr.%20Wily%20no%20Saigo%21%20%28J%29-stage0B.fm2 I did the calculations! This saves about 2 seconds (127 frames)! Of course the energy will take 12 more frames to recover because of the power up that's in the next room.

For Christmas, can we have all 4 Mega Man runs put up for publication? :D

That would be awesome! :) Unfortunately, I have a lot of progress to make if I want to submit MM3 and MM5. I have my MM4 run from November of last year and my MM6 run (which only needs the last 2 stages finished). Maybe there's someone else who is already on it! :D But don't worry, I'll get as much done as I can. In fact, I have found ways to save more time on my run: Spark Man's revisited stage (2nd part): http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1318359688/Rockman%203%20-%20Dr.%20Wily%20no%20Saigo%21%20%28J%29-stage0A.fm2 Needle Man's revisited stage (Air Man): http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/381579590/Rockman%203%20-%20Dr.%20Wily%20no%20Saigo%21%20%28J%29-stage08boss.fm2

I liked these. Awesome to see some fresh strategies.
Thanks! :D BTW, I liked the catchphrases you used for those! XD

http://www.yuko2ch.net/rockman/Rockman3ElementChange.avi Mr.Kouka that was the RTA player of Japan taught me a new glitch. It is that the arms attribute of Rush changes. In this example, arms of RushCoil have been changed into the TapSpin. Perhaps, this technique will be able to be used in some places. Link to video EDIT: Video link added by adelikat.

Wow, nice. Definitely looks like it can be used somewhere. How does the glitch work?

1:You shoot RockBuster by Rush. 2:You switch to arms that want to change the attribute(TapSpin). 3:Then, RockBuster in the screen has the attribute(TapSpin). 4:Same as 2xTapSpin hit the boss. :)

It might be useful on Crash-Doc Robot (switch to Hard Knuckle)?

If I recall correctly, the doc bots have invincibility time after getting hit. Still might be useful, especially if you already have Rush out (does it work with Rush Jet and Rush Marine too?), but mostly just to make the first hit arrive sooner.

I played around with this glitch. The main problem is that the switching back and forth simply takes too long and doesn't save any time. The other problem is that you can fire two shots with Rush, but when you switch to a weapon while the shots are still on the screen, it takes a few frames for the shots to actually hit anything. In other words, if you switch weapons a frame before one of the shots hits a baddie, it may go through. If you try to time and space it, you can just barely get both shots to hit a boss and do the damage of the weapon you switched to, but you need to be on opposite sides of the screen. I tried Rush-Knuckle against Top Man, and there's just no way to have both hit him. I also tried this on the final boss, replacing spamming Snake with Rush-Top, but the time it takes to go from the 2nd menu to the 1st (where Top Spin is), takes too long. It's faster to just spam Snake. The only places I can see this being faster is when you actually do use Rush, such as in the clip Mr. Kouka made. It is fun to use in non-TAS though.

Guess what: I am finally going to TAS Mega Man 3 (and 6)! :D I figured out why Mega Man 3 is so lag sensitive: it is because MM3 has only one set of NMI lag registers in the 0080-08FF banks instead of two like MM4 does. As a result this makes Mega Man 3 more susceptible to lag. I also showed off some Rush Jet techniques (not sure if it will be useful) which includes: -landing on Rush Jet through the edge of a platform and zipping past it -sliding infinitely on the Rush Jet underneath a ceiling http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/548801631/GlitchMan-Rockman%203%20-%20Dr%20Wily%20no%20Saigo%21%20%28J%29-RushJettricks.fm2 Also, that Rush plasma shooter weapon switching thing looked really awesome! I tried it out myself and I got some interesting results: -when you switch to particular weapons the plasma shots from when you had Rush equipped don't hit an enemy until Mega Man is fully teleported in -switching to Spark Shock causes the plasma shots to turn into Spark Shocks when hitting an enemy (it does no damage to the enemy) and the enemy unfreezes when the Spark Shock passes through it (it still acts as a regular plasma shot).
