Oh I see. I wasn't taking into account the cost of getting up about two tiles higher than was done in shuttertech4.mpg. That's unfortunate, since it seems there are no other opportunities to use scrollup in the run.

so i was right at the beginning.. "woodmanstages" scrollup was slow to use.. :( but yay i have released just NEW WIP http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/822/ Woodman defeated. Some explanations about my tricks * There is no way to make some zippings any faster as FinalFighter did.. there must be some delay or some to continue to the nextroom from "item1 pushup zip" * I was able to eliminate lag in "bird&ape lag room" + i spend much time for making different tactics and about couple of days for "ape&birdroom" enjoy ~~

One thing caught my eye: in Airman, against the guys with fans that blow you away, you don't shoot as fast as possible (every other frame). Wouldn't doing this kill him faster and thus give you normal walking speed a bit earlier? It's frame 20338 and it's 4 frames of pause between shots instead of 1.

hmm.. i just checked that.. but i have calculated my jumping etc many times and i wasn't able to kill it any faster.. and if im going to walk a bit and jump a little i can't shoot so much.. and you said i don't shoot fast as possible.. yes becouse it's not possible to hit enemy like that.. becouse jumping speed affects it.. And i shot bullets every frame fast as possible as you can see when enemy is blinking. but good you noticed that ! :)

oh and if i shoot so fast as megaman just can... enemy doesn't take damage at all

Why did you do that last jump from the Item 2 before switching to Item 1 right before entering the Woodman battle? Was it to make the Ostrich spawn in the ground? If so was that the smallest jump possible for that? Because iirc jumping is slightly slower than walking.

Another small thing that bugged me in the ape/bird room, you don't seem to be as far possible right on the item 2 when you make the final jump to the platform. I assume this has something to do with manipulating enemy spawns or lag.

According to him (Shinryuu) he played 8 hours the "ape/bird" room. Trust me Omni, this run is in very good hands.

I was thinking about the same thing, but finalfighter did the same thing in his run, so I just assumed (assuming is the mother of all f*ckups) that there was a good reason for it. Although I still don't get what that would be.

I think he said staying back a bit prevents lags which ultimately slows you down.

Sorry I've been away for so long...issues...anyways, I'm surprised finalfighter just found that height bug shown at the end of the Woodman stage. I've had that in several of my videos from a while back. IIRC, each time you jump, or every 2 times you jump, I forget which, you move down a block. Also, about the Fan Fiends in the Air Man stage...I notice you spend a bit of time fighting them. Wouldn't it be faster just to scroll them off the screen?
