Oops. I meant to say 32:00 minutes! But anyways, im glad that you might be able to save near 5 seconds on every stage.

I finished Stone Man's stage! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/404932296/GlitchMan-Mega%20Man%205-WIP6.fm2 I saved 380 frames (6 and 1/3 seconds)! So far I have saved 1920 frames (exactly 32 seconds)! This run is definitely going to be under 31:45! :-D

Man, at the rate GlitchMan is destroying NES Megaman games... Anyways, I just reread this thread because I remember when he first showed up, and, well, the following quote from early 2009 speaks for itself...

If it did happen, it is all the more ironic. Had you posted the wip, you wouldn't have lost your progress. The reason I don't believe you is because of several things. People who found out new stuff either proudly display it, or they keep it fully to themselves to surprise people or whatever. You however constantly write about it, but never show that any of it is true. It is also not a very likely story considering that you lost 2 levels of a TAS that would be 16 levels long... so you lost about 10% of the TAS. This basically means that you didn't lose THAT much... especially considering the rate you were claiming to complete levels at. Especially since you already did those levels, it wouldn't be more to you than like two days of work to redo them. It already sounded extremely fishy when you kept saying you'd love to post wips, but wondered either (1) how to do that, (2) how often to do that and (3) would do it as soon as possible. I already kinda expected I would never actually see this wip (as I held as an option in the post before your post declaring your loss of the wip)... and then for this to come true literally within 2 minutes after the post, while you could have posted it at any given time seems to be a bit too coincidental. Either way, as I said:

You still haven't posted any kind of indication that your story is even partly true.
Kind of ironic where things are now, isn't it?

Not really... if you have read all the posts, you would see that his story was indeed very unlikely. He had been talking about having a wip, and wanting to post it as soon as possible for over a week. Posting a wip can be done within seconds. I even wrote a detailed explanation how to do it. Then all of a sudden his WIP got mysteriously deleted, and he decided not to remake it (even though he had only done a little, and didn't lose THAT much progress). So yeah, I considered this story to be very unlikely, and I generally don't believe very unlikely things (especially when coming from a relatively new user on an internet forum) unless I see some kind of evidence. When he actually posted his suggestions, I was the first to try them out and admit he was right. Edit: Nice Stoneman wip btw Glitchman, it seems like using less superarrow to avoid weapon changes more really pays off.

Yes it does (as well as not having to collect so many weapon energy capsules)! I think this run will definitely be 31:45 or under. After all, it does need this big an improvement considering a whole four years of not seeing a new publication. I'm hoping to get done with this run no later than the end of June.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/429353696/GlitchMan-Mega%20Man%205-WIP7.fm2 Look at this WIP of Charge Man's stage!! The Power Stone definitely proved itself to be useful in this boss fight! I saved 609 frames (374 for the stage and 235 more for the actual boss fight)!! There wasn't a lot I could do about the lag during the boss explosion. However I was able to save just over 10 seconds (609 frames) off Charge Man's stage!! That's a lot! :D I knew there would be an improvement in this boss route!!! :D I have saved 2529 frames (over 42 seconds) off the published run!!! I only have one more stage left to go before the fortress stages!!! Yay! :D

I've silently watched nearly every encode. Good job so far, looking forward to the submitted run.

I could read what the expression on Charge Man's face said. "You glitched my home! I'll make you pay for this!" Very good work, and the improved times are astounding so far.

I love the fact that Mega Man can walk on water. HE IS JESUS! Humanity is saved by the Godly Robot of Glitches and Stolen Robot Powers!

Holy **** on a **** sandwich. You make shaving seconds or even minutes off a run look easy.

Man, that Super Arrow turns out to be one of the best mobility items in the entire series! It may be expensive to use, but it's way faster than any of the other items and it can kill enemies! And of course, you can keep using it even after you run out of weapon energy. Very handy. Looking good!

Another thing that the vertical gravity velocity with the Super Arrow can be used for is doing the down scroll arrow glitch with one Super Arrow instead of two: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/939063788/Mega%20Man%205%20%28U%29-0Aonearrowscroll.fm2 The Arrow has to be placed at exactly y-coordinate:0D and you have to have FB or lower/faster gravitational velocity for the Super Arrow.

It is interesting. It seems to decrease the number of SuperArrow in some places.

Finally, this game's TAS begins to appear on-par with the Rockman 1-2 TASes on the level of entertainment. Consider yourself congratulated!* *) To my surprise, this expression has been used by many others before me.

Thanks for congratulating me! :D Now for the list of possible improvements: I could have used Super Arrow to zip through the wall in Gravity Man's stage in two rooms: room 6 and room 7. I also could have used an Arrow screen scrolling glitch in the second to third room of Crystal Man's stage and used another Arrow zip myself out of the ceiling. I didn't feel like doing all those stages over again just for those two time savers (probably wouldn't have saved more than a second each anyway). I will keep progressing with this run the way it is if that's okay with y'all.

Awesome! I will gladly proceed with Protoman's Fortress Stage 1 then! :D I also did some tests with the gravitational velocity demonstration I recently posted. It is possible to ride the Super Arrow with FB vertical velocity and still do the down scroll glitch at the end of the room. Since I had Napalm Man's weapon equipped during Stone Man's boss fight I could have done it in Charge Man's stage. This means less lag since there would be less sprites on the screen and better Super Arrow usage.

I think this means that all my demonstration runs are gone. At least my WIP8 was saved (that's the main thing). Thanks! :D
