hey, it's GuanoBowl. Well, the emulator works well for most games.

And nobody has mentioned Valkyrie Profile? I'm rather surprised.

Take a look at the normal speedrun. You'll notice that the initial sequence with recruiting Arngrim and Jelanda is over half the run. A signficiant portion of the rest is just sleeping and Freya yelling at you. A best ending run would have more action, but would also be stupidly stupidly long, due to all the long unskipable cutscenes you'd have to go through to get your seal rating low.

As much as I like that game, I have to agree... the combination of slow combat, slow skill grinding and unskippable dialogues that make MGS4 look like MTV would make a speedrun long, slow and boring.

Chrono Trigger
I see no point in this, as it's the same game with added lag and crappier audio quality.

That didn't stop people from doing both Links Awakening and Links Awakening DX. Both are also the same except for color and an optional dungeon (which isn't in the current DX run).

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night 100% run would be great too. - 100% Map (the secret 6 glitch rooms maybe too) - 100% Enemie List (defeat every enemie at least one time) - 100% Items (own every Item at least one time at the end) - 100% Enemie Items Drops (all the Rare ones, that the list by the Shop Owner is complete) - 100% Special Magic Attacks (not sure how it calls, where you must press buttons in order) Money Jewel Glitch would help to buy expensive items. I know, it would be hard and take long to do. But I would like to see such a RUN.

I dont think either of these 100% tasks would be possible on an initial run, as I believe you can't actually get the ring of varda unless you start playing a new file while having a clear save on your memory card. It would also require grinding the sword familiar to level 50? to make it an equippable weapon.

Ring of Varda - I forgot it. Then 99,9% Items maybe. Or start with a Save from a completed game Sword Familiar to Level 50 - no big problem. Takes not so long with Duplicator (buy with Jewel Money Glitch) and Power of Siren. Or was the Duplicator only avaible after complete the game, not sure about it anymore? See this video for details about fast Level Up: Castlevania: SotN Familiar lv.99 fast

I'm not familiar with the game at all but why would it have to be equipable? :)

In order to have a 100% item list, you'd have to transform the Sword Familiar into its item counterpart.

I really doubt it. As far as I know, the Playstation version is just an emulation of the Super Nintendo game with loading times and FMVs added, and you don't watch a TAS for those. You might as well do runs of the RockMan Complete Works series so you could have slightly different strategies using the instant weapon switch buttons and different HUDs and sometimes music!

Well, originally DX was done only because in the original game, there's a HUGE map glitch that allows you to move from the end of one screen to the same end of the next screen. That was the original differences between the runs. Now DX has a run with some other bizarre glitch. So yes, it's the "same", but it's different. Also, pretty much every SNES remake Square did on the PSX sucked. Mostly for horrible audio. Especially Anthology. Ok, hell. The ONLY remake Square did right on the PSX was Final Fantasy I in Origins.

Yeah, maybe you can wait and do Chrono Trigger on the DS in a few years if it's different enough.

Yeah, both Duplicator and ring of Varda are special items that require a 'Clear" saved game. Leveling up the familiar using that trick is not really fast. Even in a re-recording emulator I guess it will take around 5 minutes. Also, there are the Gold and Silver Rings, and the Holy Glasses...

I wouldn't think those plot items would take too long to get; you'll be going to the appropriate map zones to get complete map coverage anyway. I do think that such a 100% run would be confusing to watch for people that haven't played SotN, and would be entertaining largely for those who understand the sheer amount of effort it takes to luck-manipulate items out of every single monster in the game. There was a "100% map coverage" TAS of CotM that, I believe, was rejected because it just wasn't very entertaining; I fear that something similar would happen to a 100% SotN TAS. If we want to see a more lengthy TAS than the any%, I'd suggest going for all boss kills / no sequence breaks, since there's a well-defined sequence for the game (IIRC the only possible sequence breaks involve glitches of various kinds).

Another interesting games: Herc's Adventure (this game have final?) Frogger (Why don't?) Bomberman World (Adventure mode) Soul Blade/Edge (Entertainment TAS would be great) Crash Team Racing (Adventure mode) Poy Poy Lode Runner (maybe) Wow, PSX is the best. \o/

I would love to see Frogger. It's fun, it's got a definitive end (unlike the original arcade game), and it's a hard puzzle game, which IMO would make watching it more exciting to watch.

One more game I thought of that would be fantastic is Castlevania Chronicles. However, I can't get this to work in either PCSX or ePSXe. You load the game, get to the menu, and then the game crashes. The best way to run it (if it ever works): Arranged Mode, Hard, Timer Off (the last saves time as the timer isn't converted to points). I'd rather see arranged mode done as it has a (IMO) fantastic soundtrack. YOU GODDAMNED BATHEAD! --- I've tried Frogger (USA) on the emulator, won't load. Space Invaders and MM8 won't load for me either, and I'd love to see all 3 done. ISOs are fine - they all play just fine on ePSXe. Edit: Got Rockman 8 to work anyways. Better then MM8 for VAing anyways.

Castlevania Chronicles does work in PCSX: You'll need to use Eternal SPU plugin for now. It seems to be a SPU IRQ issue like Metal Gear Solid, so maybe I can I find a workaround to make it work with other SPU plugins. Also, every version of Megaman 8 I've tried works fine. You can watch a video of it I made some time ago with PCSX: YouTube video. I don't have the other games you mention, but make sure you're not using Mooby CDR plugin, as it sucks with most ISO formats. You should use the P.E.Op.S. CDR plugin and a virtual drive for better results.
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.
