Try Pokémon Emerald or FireRed or LeafGreen or Mystery Dungeon: Red. You could also attempt the first two GBA Fire Emblem games (the first is available only in Japan though). Yet another option is Megaman Zero. A particularly fun one is The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.

Mystery Dungeon: Red sound great, but then one with 100% Pokémon too.

I don't recommend RPGs. Any simple platformer/action game that hasn't been done is a good starting choice. Bonus if you like the game.

Try those "popular" MegaMan Battle Network games.

Luck manipulation isn't a "beginners" technique; you need to actually learn shit if you want to do it right.

I still think it's kinda criminal that Super Monkey Ball Jr hasn't been TAS'd yet.

There is a cursed GBA game called Metal Slug Advance. The game itself is a simple run and gun platformer. 5 people have attempted it and they were never heard from again. Maybe you could break the curse?

Isn't the main problem with that one that there are things very early on that you won't know is faster or not until very late in the game, getting some extra weapons that is. I know I would probably do a run of it if it where not for that.
