"Embarassing"? As opposed to having a page full of screenshots of video games? ... (Edit: to that end, you can always scroll down a smidge.)

Actually, I suppose my concern is really with the new site layout as a whole. The redesign made it a lot more gaudy, and that makes me hesitant to show it to other people. Luigi isn't really at fault for the effect, but he does magnify it somewhat.

While I don't like the redesign either (one of many reasons being that I hate serif fonts with a passion), the only major change the site actually went though was the top menu, and even then it's still a lot less OMGOMGOMG CLICK HERE HOLY SHIT COLORS than some sites on the internet.

I can't figure out the change in CPU usage with the different sections of the animation, but I did check my browser's user agent. It is Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.20) Gecko/20081217 Firefox 2.0.0.20. It is definately not an X11 version, so that is why I am getting the animation.

Okay, as much as I like that little pest, this is a few measures of unacceptable: Leaving the window open is becoming detrimental to doing anything else on my computer, as it slows things down to a crawl. Between this and all the stupid Javascript nags, it's tempting to just disable Javascript on this site as a whole.

If it has so much CPU usage, why do you leave the frontpage open? I'm always leaving the forumpage open when doing something else.

I don't know, maybe because I just downloaded a movie from the site?

Don't forget the Mario that runs in the ratings box.

He was gone for Linux / X clients, and he now came back :( Very annoying, with no way to turn off besides blocking scripts or writing specific rules for the website, and fairly CPU heavy on this platform... I browse the web to browse, there is a reason I don't like animated ad banners - they're ANNOYING! This is no exception... Edit: Gone now? Yay? :) Edit 2: He comes around on other pages but the main page. Not that big of a deal but still would be nice if there was a way to disable the thing provided by the site. It's just a Bad Thing(tm) to have unnecessary animated crap on websites.
true on twitch - lsnes windows builds 20230425 - the date this site is buried
