This is hopefully a quite awaited improvement to the current 4 and 1/2 year old run. I've here improved Genisto's run by 2704 frame or just above 45 seconds.
  • Emulator used: FCEU 0.98.28
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Abuses programming errors
  • Manipulates luck
  • Plays at hardest level
Funny how I ended up with this game since I hadn't even heard of it before coming to this site, but I thought the music was so catchy that I decided to take a closer look into it and this is the result.

Improvement

Improvement exist in levels 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7. In all these levels I managed to find shortcuts or timesaving route changes, with the most major one in level 3 where my route to the contact person was about twice as fast as in the previous run.

Level 2

Turned left instead of going down the ladde after I'd lost 5 health points.

Level 3

Started by climbing down the ladder. Also beat the boss 40 frames faster.

Level 4

Went down one ladder earlier in the third room.

Level 6

Climbing down instead of up when that choice occurs. This route isn't faster from the beginning but due to a kind wall that let me pass through it became so.

Level 7

Some nice ladder manoeuver two rooms after being outdoors for the first time allowed me to catch the ladder across the room.
There where also some frames gained from better precision throughout the, this added up to a very minor gain. Some levels also could've been faster by a frame or two but due to frame rules they would've been canceled out.

Thanks to

Genisto for his run which was really impressive since I assume Memory Watch wasn't used. I also thank Walker Boh and Cheez whose heavy competition long ago on this game surely has done good for the later runs. Also thanks to TenguMan at vgmaps.com for maps of the levels that made my life much easier.
That's about it, enjoy this run as much as possible!

adelikat: Accepting as an improvement to the published movie.
ShinyDoofy: Will process...

Impressive! A big improvement to a tightly optimized run, I like. Nice route planning and new shortcuts.

I am lacking words to describe how absolutely awesome this run was. Seriously. It was like wow. I'm still struggling on stage 1 of the run though, seeing how gaining one frame in the level would make fade in before the boss 8 frames faster. Aaaaanyway fawking A man.

FCM -> FM2 Status: Fully Compatable! This movie can be converted to FM2 format and runs flawlessly in FCE Ultra X 2.0.0 Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I think one can tell by the blue subtitles from FCEUX that it does indeed work. So far only one run desynced (Mega Man 2, I believe) and just a few that made FCEUX throw up when converting them with the SDL build (the win32 one does fine).

Well, I say this because I tried converting the Solar Jetman: Quest for the Golden Warpship run a while back and it simply DID NOT WANNA SYNCH after conversion. XD Ah well...

Flygon uploaded my unofficial encode. You're welcome to upload ShinyDoofy's official encode, so it can be put in the movie page as an official link.

Plus people want youtube anyway. I don't care if people reupload using the final encode, seriously. It is better for me anyway, because I cannot upload 10 minute plus videos.

Hey. I'm speedrunning this game RTA and I just wondered - how did you de-spawn the turret in the first sector? The one guarding the last ladder. I know it's about 10 years ago, but someone might remember. I've googled it and cannot find any information about it.
