Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post. I was getting along great figuring things out until I ran into this little problem. I figured out how to convert fcm to FM2 using the Tools option in the FCEUX 2.1.1 (I think that's what version it is). The only problem is that the movies that I convert end up having some kind of...error. For instance, I was watching Dragon Warrior IV and right up until Alena (I think that's her name) is fighting the five enemies in a row, it worked great. Then something happened. She lost the fight and then the rest of the video-about 390,000 frames worth- is just her running around trying to do random things. The movie kind of breaks I guess. This is just one case, it also happened with Dragon Warrior I. After that, I wasn't going to watch every movie for like 30 minutes to find out I couldn't watch the rest. Could anyone help me with this? Love this site BTW.

looks like you experienced your first desynch. FCEU and FCEUX are different emulators, so a movie file made in one emulator may not play back correctly in the other. There is no simple way to fix this problem, other than to play the movie from the original emulator. I'm assuming the original file was an .fmv file, in which case you need to get the latest version of FCEU rerecording and play back the original movie.

joncminor: The DW4 run was made on a much older version of FCEU than what we use now. 0.98.14, IIRC. The emulation code has since been changed for whatever reason, so certain movies aren't guaranteed to sync in versions of the emulator other than the one with which they were created. Unfortunate, but can't really be helped. You should probably just get the encodes and save yourself a lot of trouble, but Bluetoaster has older versions. I'm thinking you'll want 98.13. Also, welcome aboard. I hope you stick around. :)

Some of things I hear on this site are a little advanced for me, but I get the idea of what you're saying. Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'll look around and see if I can find some old school FCEU stuff or whatever. EDIT: I found it and it did work with the one you suggested. Thanks again. EDITx2: And then it broke (desynched) again. Farther into the movie this time (Dragon Warrior I) :(

Yes, indeed. I've spent some time converting FCMs to see which ones work. There's a page which lists my results so far.

Ha. Hilarious. The only two I tried are on the list of failures.

Yeah, DW4 isn't a conversion problem to FCEUX actually. It won't sync in any FCEU version after .12
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects
