Uhm.. yeah, I saw the one run of the Genesis version of SailorMoon that was rejected in 2004 and I was hoping to start a run of my own of the SNES version on Hard, but I don't know how to go about it without it constantly repeating the same things over and over. I need some sort of suggestions as to how to pull this run off. Any help or advice would be nice.

There's a couple of Sailor Moon games on the SNES; do you mean the beat-'em-up? If so, one thing you should do is use two players; I remember playing it via ZSNES Netplay with a friend, and tag-teaming enemies significantly speeds up how fast they die.

It's the first beat-em-up. So you are suggesting that I use two characters at once rather than using just one?

Yes, that is my suggestion. If it's the same one I'm thinking of, hitting enemies with both characters in rapid succession kills them much faster than just with one character.

I've been working on it as much as I can, but I sorta don't know how I can resume recording from a certain point after playing it back and I'm using the Snes9x 1.51 v6. I know how to do re-record from savestates and frame advance, but I can't resume after stopping..

Since this isn't that "Newbie Corner" forum, I'm not breaking any rule by doing this. So here you go: http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/Using.html#ResumingRecordingOfAMovie

Thanks for the link to the answer I needed. Now I have a little demo of the run. I'm working more on Stage 1 and will try to update this thread further after I'm done. But anyway, here is the first mini-demo: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1556103364/Bishoujo%20Senshi%20Sailormoon%20%28Japan%29.smv.

Hi, GoddessMaria15. I'll try to be honest with you, I hope you don't get discouraged. I found your WIP mildly boring. All TASes of beat 'em ups are usually boring, even of awesome games like Streets of Rage or Golden Axe. I think the only beat 'em up I ever found entertaining was this one; the sex scenes in that TAS were hilarious. Maybe you could try adding to your run a bit more of sex? Also, I would reconsider your choice of using the SNES version. Besides having better graphics overall and being faster, I think those girls look better when they're nude in the Genesis version: (SNES) (Genesis) Your TAS looks very good technically, but I'd focus more on a playaround instead of just speed. For example, maybe you should make them do something lesbian or something similar? Or instead of killing the enemies outside of the screen, just wait a little more until they can be seen and then try to make some sex jokes with them or something.

I would take that into consideration, however, the Sega MegaDrive version does not have a 2 Player mode. Also, what kind of jokes would be referring of and how would I go about pulling this off for entertainment's sake?

You should watch that TAS to see if you find it funny and then try to get some ideas from it. I personally find hilarious every occasion the players interact with each other. The most entertaining part of your TAS, for me, was near the end of it when both players move across the screen in synchronization. The rest of the time they were just at the edge of the screen killing invisible enemies, which is kind of boring.

Sexual content in Altered Beast? Only FODA could have had this SEXy idea... But please do not overdo it, or you may end up creating vexatious situations.

This game is too fast, even if there's some sexy moments, it will pass so fast no one will notice. But the characters have some nice special moves, I would focus on acrobatics rather than sex.

Hmm.. what about a mixture of it all? Also, I will take the advice of not killing the enemies off-screen quite well and closely.

GoddessMaria15 What i see is incorrect aspect video in the SNES version, what makes the girl in looks thiner, you should configure the video for tv aspect, (4:3) , in Snes9x 1.43 v17 go to Config>Video and make TV Width Pixels, that would make correct this problem, and makes look like hte sega version, only changing the background

I see now, thanks. Now to decide for the characters.. I was thinking of using SailorVenus, however her whip only hits an enemy 3 times and doesn't deal as much damage. Sure, she'd work sorta for entertainment purposes, but no good other wise.. SailorJupiter is not quite fast, but is all power. SailorMars is good overall, I could say she is of good balance as well as great reach. SailorMercury is more speedy than powerful, but can be quite good in most other situations. Then there's SailorMoon herself and she is somewhat balance too. Also there seems to be a possible chance for a fan drop, even early on in the game.

Aspect-corrected GIF animation: You can easily see how Nintendo censored that body. They even changed her haircut, which was a bit sexually stimulating in the Genesis version.
