For those who don't know we are trying to archive every publication on TASVideos, including obsolete movies. We have a list but are 346 movies short. I've downloaded every active torrent and archived them (if I missed some, let me know!) and dug through all my old avis to find obsolete movies, and exhausted DeHacked's old collection. But we still need 346, many of which are post h264 codec AVI files so they are at least decent quality. If anybody has some of the movies on the list, post it here! Uploading it to archive without posting is risky because we don't multiple copies of the same file there and others maybe be doing the same thing. It is also acceptable to upload them to something like mediafire and linking it here. If so, I will handle the rest. I need those movies, help!

I have the following movies saved: journeytosilius-tas-jxq.avi legacyofthewizard-tas-lordtom.avi mightyfinalfight-tas-xipo.avi ninjacrusaders-tas-randil.avi supermariobros-walkathonv4-bisqwit.avi cvdraculax-tas-dan&nightcom.avi rockmanandforte-tas-gigafrost.avi rockmanandforte100cd-tas-vsmk3.avi bskaizouchoujinshubibinmanzero-tas-darkfulgore.avi superturrican-tas-pasky13.avi contraiii-glitched-tas-darkcloud.avi gradius3-tas-krocketneo.avi soniccd-tas-upthorn,nitsuja.avi soniccdjap-tas-upthorn,nitsuja.avi castlevaniahod-tas-zggzdydp.avi supermario64-tas-120stars-foda.avi I've copied them to my webspace here. I don't have the greatest upstream bandwidth in the world, but you should be able to grab them eventually. Please let me know when you have.

Might be a silly request but can you add an option on that page to sort the movies by the filename? In this way it would be faster for people to compare that list to the one on their hard drives since it is likely to be sorted by filename. Unfortunately I usually deleted old movies when I downloaded the new ones but I will look into this. edit I checked them all anyway, and I could find only one contraiii-glitched-tas-darkcloud.avi Which, unfortunately, is found by Derakon as well. I am sorry I can't be of further help.

Here's an alphabetical listing of the movie filenames. Edit: removed an extraneous close-code tag, then added this edit comment, making the entire message significantly longer!

All the movies with a (none found) are Famtasia moves, except one, which is a SNES movie without an encode: http://tasvideos.org/1074M.html. Since this one needs a new encode to begin with, can I claim it, encode it, and put it on archive.org?

just grabbed the list and found: ~/shared/azureus/old> for i in $(cat ~/tases.txt) ; do ls -1 $i 2>/dev/null ; done tinytoonadventures-tasv2-randil.avi lolo-tasv6-baxter.avi arkanoid-tas-baxter.mkv guerillawar-tasv2-randil.avi dragonwarrior3-tas-davedfwm.avi simpsons_bartsnightmare-tas-samhaingrim.avi mortalkombat2-playaroundv2-samhaingrim.avi aladdin-tav2-jaysmad.avi earnestevans-tas-ouzo.avi spidermanvskingpin-tas-mmbossman,neofix.avi metroid0mission-tas-dragonfangs.avi smb1fds-tas-phil.avi supermariobros2j-tasv2-luigi-phil.avi ~/shared/azureus> for i in $(cat ~/tases.txt) ; do ls -1 $i 2>/dev/null ; done ninjacrusaders-tas-randil.avi supermariobros-tas-klmz.avi supermariobros-walkathonv4-bisqwit.avi doubledragon2-tasv2-2p-alone-adelikat.avi superturrican-tas-pasky13.avi gradius3-tas-krocketneo.avi sneszelda-short-tas-deign.avi kingsbounty-tas-aqfaq.avi soniccd-tas-upthorn,nitsuja.avi castlevaniahod-tas-zggzdydp.avi castlevaniahod-tasv2-zggzdydp.avi castlevaniahod-tasv2-comicalflop.avi pop-sandsoftime-tas-theenglishman.avi If I hadn't moved to a house with crappy cables, those would still be seeded :( Anyway, saturating my upstream is never a good idea when I intend to get work done, but if you leave me an ftp or something else I can use for automated overnight uploads, I'll make sure they get to you as soon as possible.

We've been placing old movies on archive.org, which supports FTP uploading - would that be sufficient?

If you upload to archive make sure to take out any duplicates with Derakon's list, since I will be uploading those tonight.

Thanks for the heads-up, and for taking the effort to archive obsoleted movies. :)

Just took a cruise through my old folder, checked everything vs what Tub and Derakon have, and this is what I can add: aboyandhisblob-tas-aqfaq.avi adventureisland3-tas-sami.avi castlevaniacotm-tasv2-ogreslayer.avi eswatcyberpolice-tas-dammit.avi excitebike-tasv2-luke.avi gijoe-tas-ferretwarlord.avi goldenaxe-tas-neofix.avi linksawakening-tas-chefstef.avi littlenemo-tas-kyrsimys.avi littlesamson-tas-jxq.avi lolo2-tas-randil,hanzou.avi metroidii-tas-cardboard.avi miketysonpunchout-tasv2-adelikat.avi superdemoworld_tlc-tas-mrz.avi supermariobros2-tas-full-donamerdragon2.avi tetrisattack-fast99999-tas-acmlm.avi tinytoonadventures-tas-randil.avi tmnt3-tas-dasrik.avi widget-tas-ctrlaltdestroy.avi zelda2-tas-inzult.avi zelda3-timeattackv2-short-omnipotententity.avi I did used to have a lot more, but I deleted a lot of obsoleted movies and stuff I didn't watch at some point! Oops! edit: I'll just use mediafire or something and link to it when I'm done

As noted above, I'd suggest using archive.org if you're going to do this.

http://srpgp.supersanctuary.net/bubsyclaws-timeattack-acmlm.mkv I have some of the other movies but they were already provided by posters before me, so this is all I got left. Hope it helps.
This is only a little obsessive.

ok, I can try archive.org, but I'm stuck after creating an account. It looks like I'll have to enter filenames into the web interface before I can upload anything, which would collide with an overnight-batch-upload. I'm reluctant to just try it out since, well, mistakes will be permanent. ;) Can someone please get back to me on irc (Tub) when you're awake?

Tub, you can upload files on archive.org via FTP if you want: http://archive.org/create.php?ftp=1 It is better if you can upload each individual file in a separate container, but if you want to do it in a batch way, just specify a generic name for the container (e.g. tasvideos1234) and upload them all in the same folder. Zerx0 did the same thing back in the day.

Derakon & Inzult's movies have been uploaded to archive and linked on respective movie pages. Thanks! Only 306 to go :(

Would it be possible to propose filenames for the blanks ? At least by what it would begin ? I must find some time to write a script (XP box) to help searching.

The ones without a name likely never existed in the first place. Many of them are the "History Revival Project" by Bisqwit back in 2006
