I finished the second lesson (15.14 in-game time now, managed to save a couple of frames) and after this lesson, the game is going to get a bit harder to TAS, hoping for the best, I have a 12 second time to beat.

This is a WIP for Mickey's Speedway USA for the Game Boy Color. This TAS aims for the fastest in-game times instead of real time. Right now it beats the first of 5 classes in 14.82 seconds. Minnie was chosen due to her great handling and fast acceleration (Daisy has the same stats). Compared to someone like Pete/Goofy who was slower by only a few frames despite the high top speed. Perhaps Mickey/Donald is faster in the first 2 classes, but I know for a fact that the other 3 are going to be a pain in the butt for him. In the regular grand prix mode it's the opposite case, since you're going through an obstacle course here pretty much. The slightly slower top speed is actually a benefit since it gives you more room for much tighter turns, and fast acceleration is important to gain your top speed earlier after stopping and driving in reverse too.
EDIT: On second thought, Mickey might be the slowest after some more testing by like a full second. LOL

I've been working on an improvement to my old TAS since yesterday, but I'm stuck at the final level because of one specific skip with a damage boost that's unbelievably precise (how did I do that nearly a decade ago?), so I made this quick watch file just to see if it helps me a little.

This is a TAS of a SpongeBob Flash game based of the TV special of the same name. This movie forgoes the use of an in-game code that unlocks a power up that by grabbing it, performs a fast super jump that breaks through blocks and at a higher altitude. It's potentally faster to use this compared to not using the in-game code.
Because of this detail, I'm not sure if I should submit this.

This was a sync disaster. And it's all the fault of the first fish boss. It just keeps changing it's attacking pattern no matter what. It used to sync the first couple of times, but if I tweak just one setting or try to record video, it just desyncs. It's a big shame.

This is an improvement to the old 2020 TAS. It saves considerable time over the current publication thanks to resetting the game when the sports event begins instead of pausing the game to skip them. Also my positioning when talking to Howdy is shifted to the left so I walk a shorter distance after clearing the textboxes.
All of this was discovered by Japanese runner Hideseek72.
Currently though I'm stuck at resyncing the rest of the TAS from when Bijou starts walking into the room.

This was made to test a weird thing that happens in this game on the Genplus-gx core. The game can crash once you collect a KONG letter. It didn't THIS TIME when I collect it in this movie. But when not recording a movie, when I collect a letter, the game freezes!!! This doesn't happen in any other emulators I've tried, incluing BlastEm, Gens, and even Kega Fusion.

This is an improvement to my POWA! TAS by nearly 1 second. World 1-3 specifically was improved. 2-2 was improved by 1 frame. The new final in-game time is now 10:33.

This is a test movie testing out the PokeMini libretro core in BizHawk 2.9.1, using TAStudio (yeah, we're doing this again).
Unfortunately, I had a hard time syncing this. You NEED to set up the clock in each and every game you try to TAS first (this is due to the movie reading an already existing save by default each and every time). And even then, there is a chance the movie will desync. It should sync now... at least in the actual game, it desyncs on the "You Win!" screen. I tried TASing Pichu Bros. Mini but that was more unstable for me. Also the RTC detects the time of your PC's time, it seems.
I do want to point out that all the buttons are here and accounted for. Specifically, the reed switch is mapped to the L1 Button on the RetroPad.
Hopefully one day a Pokemon mini core for BizHawk can finally happen... one day... hopefully... surely... a man can dream.
(Also before anyone even thinks about suggesting this: NO, I'm not going to use libTAS just to try TASing these games. At that point I might as well give up.)

Improved this subtly by inserting the 3 reptar coins early, this saves time in the longterm when you have to go back to that room at the final level. Also made a rough start at the beginning of the backyard level.
(also important is that im using a clean rom now, so it's also a resync)
