Resident Evil Gaiden is a spinoff of the Resident Evil series for the Game Boy Color. It depicts a mysterious viral outbreak on a cruise ship that was initially investigated by Leon S. Kennedy until contact was lost with him. Barry Burton, a supporting character from the first Resident Evil game, is then sent to find his whereabouts and also find out who caused the viral outbreak.
