Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is the direct sequel to Shantae: Risky's Revenge developed and published by WayForward for the 3DS in 2014. After losing her genie powers at the end of Risky's Revenge, Shantae must cooperate with her nemesis, Risky Boots, in order to prevent the return of the Pirate Master. Instead of the genie powers from other games, Shantae now obtains pirate equipment in order to aid on her quest.

Danius defeats the Pirate Master in record time.
