Story

For centuries Earth has used Mortal Kombat to defend itself against the Outworld's emperor Shao Kahn. But, Kahn becomes frustrated by failed attempts at taking Earth through tournament battle. He enacts a plan which began 10, 000 years ago. During this time Kahn had a queen. Her name was Sindel and her young death was unexpected. Kahn's shadow priests, lead by Shang Tsung, make it so Sindel's spirit would someday be reborn: not on the Outworld but on the Earth realm itself. This unholy act gives Shao Kahn the power to step through the dimensional gates and reclaim his queen. Thus enabling him to finally seize the Earth. Upon breaching the portal into Earth, Shao Kahn slowly transform the planet into a part of Outworld itself. Kahn strips the Earth of all human life claiming every soul as his own. But, there are souls which Kahn cannot take. These souls belong to the warriors chosen to represent Earth in a new Mortal Kombat. The remaining humans are scattered throughout the planet. Shao Kahn sends an army of fierce Outworld warriors to find and eliminate them. Some of Earth's warriors survive the attacks, most do not. But, the remaining few hold the one chance at saving all of human kind. After the first tournament Sonya Blade turned up missing. Jax then embarked on a rescue mission into the Outworld. He found Sonya being held captive with her nemesis Kano. In freeing Sonya, Jax also frees Kano. Kano then uses the chance to escape arrest. The ultimate advancement in Lin Kuei technology comes with the creation of the first cyber-assassin. They begin converting their human ninjas into soulless machines. But, Sub-Zero refuses to take part and is marked for death by his own clan. After wining the first Mortal Kombat and escaping from the Outworld, Liu Kang looks to the future. He begins training a new generation of Shaolin, alongside Kung Lao. But, nothing could prepare them for the unexpected Outworld invasion.

Shang Tsung's Story

Shang Tsung is Shao Kahn's lead sorcerer. He once fell out of favor with his emperor after failing to win the Earth Realm through tournament battle. But the ever scheming Shang Tsung is instrumental in Kahn's conquest of Earth. He has now been granted more power than ever.

This movie was the source of many chuckles. The combos were fairly impressive, too. Yes vote. My only problem is that you took damage for no reason. BABY ON THE SHOULDER!

This wasn't too bad, but the thing that saddened me the most was the lack of character variation at points, you ended up using kung lao more than most others, and completely overlooked some characters (rain, smoke *even though he's a scorpion clone basically*, noob saibot). Kano probably would've made an interesting fight, although his fatality was nice. Overall, it kept me entertained so it gets a yes.

You can't morph into Rain, Noob Saibot and Smoke...

Sometimes he recover more faster than the animation of the fireballs...this happen when I'm stay far from the enemy...and he do a projectile...or else I would have to run until the enemy to reach him...

Really? that's so lame, at least 2 of them would've made entertaining fights, and smoke would've made for a funny "FINISH HIM" with his DESTROY THE WORLD fatality.

Obvious 'yes' vote from me. :) I'm glad to know I helped, even if it was only a little. My only regret is that Snes9x doesn't properly emulate it, especially the sound. But hey, what can you do? Again, great job!

I like it enough to give it a yes. My only grievances are the fact you used some of the same fighters, same combos and that you took some unneeded damage. (What it looked like to me atleast.)

This is one of the most action packed and entertaining movies I have ever seen, no need to press fast forward while watching any part of this. I will give this an overwhelming yes vote for being such an exciting movie. I would have preferred if no damage was taken but it hardly detracts from the entertainment. The glitched fatalities weren't that entertaining either, I think the normal fatalities would have looked better. Overall it is still an awesome movie.

Simply brilliant! Perfect use of many different characters, great combos all the time, much variety, and really stunning fatalities and other endings. This is the best MK TAS I've seen so far, so a big YES vote from me! You are a true fighting game expert who has a good sense for variety and entertainment in such games. Very good job man, keep doing what you're doing!

Gave any thought to doing MKT or MK4 on the n64? Those could make great movies aswell.

Is there a reason why snes9x improvement 7 was used instead of the latest?

I dont know why but other improvements like Snes9ximprovement9 or 10 doesn't work good here...the graphics are stranges (using the same settings than the improvement7)...and sometimes LAG... O_O really strange...

I tried the 1.0 version on Mupen it and seemed to work well enough. The combos in that game are insane. I'll see if I can find that combo video for it. Edit: Here it is. There a bunch more on youtube you can find. This would be like the ultimate MK TAS. Entertainment, combos, graphics, sound wise it's way better than UMK3. You can morph into more people too I think.

I had completely forgotten that MKT is also on the 64! I'm going to test right now to see if it emulates well. Ok, so I just tried it using it and though it didn't work with glN64, but worked fine with Jabo's Direct3D8 1.6. I haven't tested it with anything else, but if it works find (at least, so far) on Jabo's, what's the point? I definitely think this would be a good game to TAS. You should be able to do more combos from the arcade, though I must admit that the PS1 version was better emulated. Still, I think this would be a great idea, and I'd try to contribute in any way if possible. EDIT: I forgot, I played version 1.2. I don't know the differences between the two, but it may be possible that one version has more glitches you can exploit over the other.

I expected a bit more out of UMK3. No animalities or friendships. And more importantly no Liu Kang Arcade Fatality :(. The MK2 submission is a lot more glitched (probably due to the game engine) but I won't hold this against you. Taking damage was bleh. And the fireballs got a bit repetitive. However, the scrolling screen fatality was a great WTF moment, the flow was nice, and it was very fast paced. I'm conflicted on giving this a VERY strong MEH or a weak YES. I will hold off voting for now. I prefer your Killer instinct run!

I posted a new topic at the N64 board for talks of a MKT speedrun. We should finish the conversation there. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=102418#102418

This game absolutely bites. The graphics are bad, the sound is very shitty on the emulator, and the fatalities are gimmicky and cartoonish. The play is not bad, but there's only so much to do here. The combos used get old because the combo system basically puts everyone on the same level. The infinite juggles are, well, boring to me. There were some nice touches, but overall I'm voting no.
