Except you have to consider that there's setup time to get the sword glitch activated, so it ends up being slower. Guano can achieve the same result using frame advance. Forget it.
How do you figure? You can easily set it up during the first phase of the battle without losing time. It does waste a bomb though, so only use it if you've got enough bombs to be able to waste one.

Does it bother anyone else that mwl acts like the big ring leader of the production of this run when he's not even the author? Or is this normal in N64Land? Guano do this route, Guano post your WIP, bkDJ encode Guano's WIP so I can watch it, comicalflop your idea is worthless, guys stay on topic unless I want to go off-topic, on and on and on. Check your attitude, mwl.

This is not normal in N64 land; no other run has one non TASing member calling the shots on every detail.

You should all keep in mind that mwl knows more about OoT than anyone, if I recall correctly. I'm sure he doesn't enjoy being the arrogant rude know-it-all he is, it's probably just a necessary evil to produce the best possible end result.

There's more than enough time to jumpslash and set up the sword glitch before PG even comes out of the first picture. Although it does waste a bomb.

wait, why doesn't the crouch-stab do more damage than just holding the endless sword into him? is PG a rare enemy that only registers the number of hits, not the damage? JXQ: yes, mwl appears a bit odd at times, but who doesn't? Unless Guano complains, I don't see the need to start an argument.

If you activate the sword glitch off a bomb (or anything you can activate it off), after doing a jumpslash, the sword will have the power of a jumpslash, since the crouch stab (which you used to activate the glitch) had it. Hope that made sense. : )

Actually when it comes to ganon and phantom ganon I use sword glitch all the time. And no, I have not managed to do it in 1 cycle ever...

Don't waste a bomb, that's ridiculous. Who wouldn't rather see a superslide.

I never use a bomb for swordglitch on Ganondorf or Phantom Ganon. Do the jumpslash, then crouchstab and hit Z-target and C-up.

Yeah, that works but it wastes a second or two.

Yeah, that works but it wastes a second or two.
And can't damage Phantom Ganon like a bomb can.

You do realize no one was talking about hitting ganon with a bomb, right? just different ways of activating the infinite sword glitch. getting navi info pauses the action, using a bomb does not (but it wastes a bomb)

I know. I was just suggesting that if he uses a bomb, he might as well try to use it to land an extra hit.

This might be a little OT from the current discussion, but Matroska offers the possibility to encode video with a variable framerate in order to decrease the filesize. A How-To can be found here.

I was referring to the discussion about a month back on how to encode the video properly (see around here). It has nothing to do with the current process of the run, but I thought it could help the encoder.

sarcasm Well I am at Lake Hylia. I should superslide over to a set of bushes. Manipulate 10 bombs as well as 10 rupees/2 Blue Rupees(so I can fish). This would give me 17 bombs after the superslide, minus the bombs/bombchus to get up to the hut to fish. Is a bombchu still required for the Ganon early? And is there a video of getting up the mountain? http://download.yousendit.com/626D5844121A3B1E

You have to do the backflip plus shield drop boost for ganon early, so I'm pretty sure you need a bombchu.

it desynched in Hyrule Field, just before you did the second super slide. the bomb exploded into the shield, and you were left crouching, shield at the ready.

Well, if it keeps desynching, the encoders will never get it published, you know?

no, that would only happen if the desynchs went unchecked. if it desynchs, someone points it out, you go back, you fix it.
