This is a very strange shooter that's a twist on the old cellphone game Snake. Basically you're a snake with a gun who lives on a super-low-friction cube, and stuff falls from the sky onto your cube, which you shoot until it falls off. If shots hit you or anything else, it gets pushed towards the edge, and your own directional buttons just kind of push you in that direction too. By pushing enemy snakes off the cube you get longer - which makes you easier to hit and harder to control - but your length is also a score multiplier, and you can detach your body with a button if times get tough. It's super addictive and really weird. http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/windows/mcd_e.html

saying that its "free software" strongly implies that its free software, not just gratis software.

Most people have never even heard of the distinction.

Doesn't mean the author is willing to share the source.

"Free software" doesn't always mean "Free software distributed under the GNU General Public License".

Would you rather pay to get only the source?

Yes, that's correct. Saying that it's free obviously implies that it's free. That is, you don't have to pay to use it. (Just because some FSF or such organization wants to redefine the word "free" to mean something completely different doesn't mean they are right. Free means free: You don't have to pay. Period.)

What? "Free" can without any redefinition, mean many different things. For example, it can mean free from confinement, relieve from, dislodge. Etc. For more meanings, see this page: http://www.google.is/search?q=define%3Afree No one is "redefining" anything. It's just too bad that there aren't two different English words for free (cost nothing) and free (not constrained).

The point was that free != open-source.

Is there a reason you care? It's a game, you don't need the source for it. Christ...

Well, there's costless and unconstrained, but they just don't sound as cool as free, do they?

the term "free software" has come to mean "free-as-in-speech" to many, so it can be confusing when a freeware application refers to itself as free software.

I'd like a Linux binary. I don't like playing games in a VMWare session.
