I downloaded Mozilla after hearing so much about it. Seems neat, but I've got a problem accessing this site. In particular, I can't download the FMV files using Mozilla. All I get is a "text file" of 3 or 4 kB, much smaller than normal.
Using IE they download just fine. Any idea why this happens?

The reduction happens because of transparent compression - i.e. the file is transferred in compressed format. That happens for all pages in this forum too.
However the files should be automatically decompressed in the receiving end.
Now that you mentioned it, it seems to work here exactly the same way.
I don't know why it happens - maybe it has something to do with that the content-type isn't specified. I gave a "application/x-famtasia-movie" content-type to them and it seems to work now.

Either do like Bisqwit said or right-click and "save as". It happens sometimes with different filetypes. I've had it happen with torrents too (using firebird/fox). There may be an extension that solves these problems though.
psssst FireFox will outperform Mozilla in the time being. FireFox is a next generation browser and Mozilla is old and will be replaced by FireFox. I suggest you use FireFox :) (or Opera :))

What I would like to see at that site is a comparison between Mozilla and Firefox. That is, what does Firefox offer me which is better than or is not implemented at all in Mozilla?
From what I can see, Firefox seems to be just another browser using the same engine as Mozilla, but with a different GUI and different set of features. I didn't see anything so outstanding that would have made me immediately switch from Mozilla to Firefox.
Ok you're rigt comparison matrix would be nice.
Firefox is faster browsing webpages and faster to start up. Firefox takes less space because it is only a web browser. Haven't checked if firefox uses less RAM-memory than mozilla dunno about that yet.
Thunderbird is an excellent mail program if you need one and is Firefox's best friend. :)
Thunderbird & firefox is a better choice than using mozilla for both.
but most important thing is that Mozilla will be replaced by Firefox. Change from mozilla to firefox will be inevitable.
I don't believe that Mozilla's development roadmap design will make Mozilla obsolete by Firebird or Firefox. Mozilla is still being developed (I download all the nightly releases :D ) as being an all-in-one package. Firefox is an experimental web browser, that's still in beta stages (and even Mozilla doesn't recommend using it for mission critical stuff). I'm sure if Firefox gets to be at a stable development point, Mozilla won't be discontinued.
From my experience with Firebird 0.7, the browser is very bad with resource management, especially on lower-end machines. Loading up webpages actually took 5x longer than it did with IE, and was overall unsatisfactory for me.
Not exactly the same, but I though that I would use the topic. I got firefox recently (its great) The only thing that I am wondering is if there is a way where you can specify where you want to save something each time you download something. It always saves to my desktop and its kind of annoying. Its the windows version if that matters.
