Well, being pretty dumb, I didn't think to download the moveset movies for the emulators, which I did to watch them. I am still having some problems, but I have to go, so I will talk about 'em later.

I have some other problems too. When I got the speedrun of Pokemon Red for Gameboy, and tried to unzip it, it was password protected. I tried using 7-zip to unzip it, and it worked, but the speedrun was not synced to the game. Also, on a different note, I was wondering if I could start a movie (in Mupen64) and save midway through, then close out and finish the movie later on. I know I can use a save state and reload it, but I can't close out of Mupen and come back later. (Note: I use the latest version of the Gamerboy emulator suggested, I might need the older one, and I use the latest version of re-recording in Mupen)

1. you need the older version of VBA 2. playback the .m64 in read-only mode

I already knew about the whole "fast forward your movie to the end, and then start recording again", but what if you have a movie that is hours long. ( Example: Earthbound) Someone ought to make a utility to load movies at a certain time and allow re-recording without having to watch it every time. ( Unless I'm not looking hard enough again and it has already been done. Thank you for helping me out.

Try watching the run of a game you've played a lot or know pretty well - you should be pleasantly surprised. Also, check out the reccomended movies for people who aren't into the hobby as heavily as some of us.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

That utility is called a savestate. Before you close your emulator, do a savestate. After you open it again, load it in read-only mode to continue watching, and in read+write to continue recording. Loading it otherwise is impossible because a movie doesn't contain information for each frame, and thus have to be "reproduced" up to the needed point.

One more thing though, Is it possible to save a movie from Youtube onto your hard drive? I'm having trouble downloading a speedrun for Super Smash Bros. I want to study how he did it.

Word! Build-it-Yourself Rocked! also, www.vixy.net has been giving me lots of problems lately... the vids don't download, and they misspelled "buzy".

It probably takes at least an hour to download even the smallest N64 roms with dial-up. Broadband isn't expensive anymore these days.
Just to throw in an interjection: there are still some places that don't have high speed access. :(

comicalflop yeah, vixy does that a lot. Stupid users not donating. Well, I don't donate either... but still. One thing that seem to work better is if you let the youtube-movie load completely first, then start vixy.

Yeah, I seem to remember having more success in the past by letting the movie fully load... I'll try what you describe, see what happens.
