If Bisqwit lived in America, the correct answer would most likely be "You have an 80% chance of being obese (since you live in America), so take the extra few steps since a little extra energy expenditure would do you good".
I don't know enough about Finland to know if this response would be appropriate there :\
People in Finland aren't particularly obese, though of course obese people do exist too.
But in that moment I was actually in a hurry, but I didn't want to end up sweaty and panting at where I was going, so it was really a shortest-time and least-energy optimization task I was doing :)

Don't worry, we all do that. The more we know, the better we can do it, but optimization is done by everyone, because it is the "easiest" way to do something.
at least if you got more brains than brawns. If he was more trained he might have been able to run without breaking a sweat ;)
It is a bit silly, because the results of that optimization would be mere seconds, but at least it keeps the brain occupied.
Although, you have to admit that if pokemon was actually real, it'd be incredibly awesome. :)
You know you listen to a specific song too much when you could reproduce it precisely (like background instruments and stuff, not just lyrics) from memory.
You know you use the computer too much when you see something in real life that's absolutely stunning, shocking, unusual, or just plain awesome, and your very first reaction is to take a screenshot of it.
You know you TAS SM64 too much when you forget the purpose of the Lakitu Skip.
You know you associate with SM64 players too much when you assume that everyone knows exactly what that meant.

You know you think too much about hit detection when you're about to turn left on a road, with cars passing by the other way, and you think "when can I start turning so that I juuuust barely clip the oncoming car behind it without getting damaged?"

Haha, this made my day. It reminds me of when I played OoT too much when it first came out and I wanted to roll down the hallways of the school to get to my classes faster.
Don't get the wrong idea by the title. I don't drink.
I don't know if it's just me, or if it's cause I'm new at TASing, but after about an hour (sometimes longer) of using the frame advance, when I get off the computer, it feels like everything is going in frame advance speed for about 5 or 10 minutes. It's an odd feeling, but it happens when I've been working on my run for too long. I was wondering if anybody else gets this?
If you're concentrating nonstop on the emulator for a long time and suddenly stop and start moving around, it can feel a little disorienting, at least for me. I wouldn't say IRL feels like everything is going a frame at a time, but the constant focus on the emulator screen can cause disorientation when looking away from it and moving, maybe causing dizziness, maybe causing [somewhat unnoticeable] blurred vision, and that might cause what you're describing.
Amateur diagnosis. ;)

You're focusing too hard on your work, I'd say. Create an intermediary between working in frame advance and going back to your normal 60Hz lifestyle.
Also, that's weird you're weird.
