Am I the only one experiecing BIG truble whit BitTorrent?
1. Downloading is sloooow, usually under 0kb/s. I can't stay on-line forever.
2. Why does it keep saying: "ERROR Couldn't listen. unable to forward port via UPnP." I've opened a damn lot of ports.
And I've read allot of pages of "How to fix it" bla bla bla... it never seams to work. I'm not saying Bisqwit should quit using it, I know it saves Band-Whit like nothing els but is there any chans to fix a second way to obtain the videos?

I have never had any problems with BitTorrent. Only that it is slow sometimes but I can live with that. But I can imagine that it is pretty annoying for modem users =/

I should be seeding those movies constantly (duh) .. I don´t know if I do though and that really bothers me. I think my settings for Azareus is correct. Atleast I hope they are.
What client you are using? There could be multiple reasons on why your download is slow. I would suggest that you'd go and ask in your clients support forum (or whatever) for assistance.
As for UPnP, turn it of from preferences, if your modem/router/whatever doesn't support it.

After som editin in the Windows Fire-Wall and so on I acctually have gotten a green light (using bittornado) boosting my downloadrate to 141k/sek. Don't know what I did though...

I hear that in most cases yellow light means that you are firewalled. So, I guess you did something to prevent that then :) Opened/forwarded ports maybe. The importanat part is that it's working :)
I just learned that Bittorrent is blocked at my uni, which was why I got blocked from Internet for two days... Seems I'll have to stick with watching the smv's.

It mostly depends on who is seeding, their connection speed, and their max upload settings. I've had torrents going at 1kb/sec forever, meanwhile another was going at 290kb/sec.

Seeing 400(My record 425 kB. My connection can't go further :P ) kB is rare but it happens sometimes. Especially when downloading legal isos. Ex. A Debian Linux iso.

Nope, not exaggerating, and I'm only on cable. What I believe is that the guy had a T1, but I can't be sure. Downloaded a 700mb movie in 65mins. It's rare that I get that for a BitTorrent, but on mIRC, it's not too uncommon. The bots there usually have some pretty nice connections.

290 is possible. The highest i've gotten was around 480k/sec, although the maxmimum i've seen my connect download from a dedicated server was ~1.1MB/sec. The advertised speed for my connection is 9000/1000, and lives up to that incredibly well.
Message to Walker Boh. Please don't use Azareus. While I can't stop you from doing this I can present you with reasons why not to:
-To start Azureus (and BitComent) don't follow the bittorrent protocol, which right there should be reason enough not to use it.
-Some people use it because you can select what files to download from the torrent, there are other clients which support this: I know atleast bittornado does.
-It supports the ability to close the torrent after you reach 100%. Sure you may not use this, and isn't really a reason to not use it, but supporting a program which lets you automatically avoid uploading completely goes against how bittorrent works.
-Some people use it because you can handle multiple torrents in one window. This is not the only program to do this, I know Nova Torrent does (haven't used the program in along time), and BitTornado is working on a new GUI which supports it for when the next version of BitTorrent comes out.
-And the biggest problem off the top of my head, is the peer caching. As it sounds the program keeps a list of ips which are on the tracker to try to force more connections. The client then sends requests to the cached ip without checking if they are online or not. So the result is, every time I finish seeding, I close the program, then get packeted by like 100 people who use that stupid program. And REALLY, does it improve your speed at all? It didn't for most of the people I talk to, infact sometimes it was slower.
The way people view the BitTorrent protocol is kinda sad really. Some people, like Grillo's university probably, view it as an illegal peer-to-peer sharing program, nothing more. While it is nothing more than a protocol which was developed to share the load of bandwidth for servers. Many vendors of opensource software use it as just that, I will use Phil's example of Debian. Other people totally ignore how it works, i've seen people ask for, and make hacked version's of bittorrent which supports turning off uploading, which totally defeats the purpose of the protocol. Their excuse is "it's only me who is doing it", but really, if a client like that is made public; EVERYONE will get it.
Now for a completely different point of information: Quite often the bots on IRC are stolen bandwidth from somewhere. How many hosts do you think there are which will provide multiple OC-* level lines to someone for illegal purposes at a price that you could possibly afford?
It seems to me some people who are seeds are not really uploading. Sometimes i get nothing with three or four seeds, somtimes i get good speed with one seed. With a lot of seeds though, I always get something, even though it's sometimes slow.
I got 400 sometimes with wellseeded videos (for example zelda when it came), both in upload and download. But now since I moved I'm mostly a leech because my connection is very poor and sometimes just doesn't work at all. :( sorry.
