Hey all, just wanted to do something to generate interest in projects with this emulator, as it supports a good many arcade classics. For starters, here's a complete (IIRC) list of games supported. Note that this doesn't include the many different versions each game tends to have; it's meant to give a general idea of what we've got here. And here are the games I'd most like to see: Alien vs. Predator DoDonpachi Both D&D games ESPRade (never seen or played it, but it's from the makers of DoDonpachi so it must be good =) ) Final Fight Ghouls & Ghosts Magic Sword Magical Drop 3 (there are a few different modes, which would all look insane) Magician Lord Mars Matrix Both Megaman games Metal Slug series Money Puzzle Exchanger Shock Troopers Solomon's Key (mainly to see how different it is from the NES version) Strider Twinkle Star Sprites (freaking crazy, no other game out there is anything like this) -Josh

With the knowledge of F3, perhaps a new category on the list of forums should be created?

Anyway, I am thinking of creating some rules to be sure people press F3 at the beginning of movies. Also, if a newer version is faster by less than 1 second, it will be refused. Evidently, I will inspect those movies to be sure people press F3. Well, until someone implement the "from Reset" feature.

Oh my god... magician lord...*gets shivers* ... I never played it through... even with endless continues it was kinda nasty.. I would definelty want to see that played perfectly! Alien Versus Predator is awesome game too. So are all the Metal Slugs. Pulstar and Blazing Star from the Shooters intrest me most.

A top-speed, blazing-fast run of Dangun Feveron will destroy all others. Make sure you collect ALL the disco men. I'd also like to see DoDonpachi. Mahou Daisakusen and Battle Garegga would make great runs since Raizing's rank system is the most brutal in the genre, but who gives a fuck when you're playing at 6% and have re-recording? You can max it out early and play the whole game at a nigh-impossible difficulty.

My brother's done a Mars Matrix run: http://www.filespace.org/blip/mmatrix-10.fr He uses FBA to make street fighter videos, too: http://www.combovideos.com/page.php?id=125 (sadly, you have to register to download that video) I'd also like to see runs for the other shooters, especially DoDonPachi, Gigawing, ESPRade, Pulstar, and Battle Garegga. Sorry I've been missing in action. I haven't had a lot of free time recently.

I have done a metal slug 100% kills run, I dont know if this was an official collecting thread or anything ... but I thought I'd throw that out there! When I finished it Bisqwit said he hadn't heard of it or neo-geo (IIRC) but I think it may be up at speedruns.org.

somehow King of Dragons, Vendetta, TMNT, Simpons and Wonder Boy weren't mentioned, i think they are great options for timeattacking (arent they emulated by final burn?)

FBA can only emulate CPS1, CPS2 and Neo Geo games. King of Dragons is CPS1. Vendetta, I don't know that game. TMNT is a Konami game which isn't emulated by FBA. Simpsons and Wonder Boy are probably from other companies as well.

Yep, King of Dragons is the only FBA game of the ones you mentioned, FODA. And what Phil said is generally true, but the emulator runs some other games besides those (i.e. the Cave shmups, Solomon's Key). -Josh

Vendetta is another konami game, beat em up, 4 simultaneous players, VERY good, anyone who likes double dragon or streets of rage should play it at least once. also known as "Crime Fighters 2" in Japan. Simpsons = Konami Wonder boy = Sega (along with Escape, who later sold the engine to Hudson) edit: true, none of those work, but one game that i like a lot and work is Neo Drift Out (Neo Geo), a racing game, i'm surely gonna do that, in fact already experimented recording the first track, and it went smooth. :)

I've done a run of Mega Man: The Power Battles using Forte on the Rockman 7 path -- er, "Bass" on the "Mega Man 7" path -- on the hardest difficulty before. I could easily improve upon it, however, considering some of the knowledge I picked up just yesterday. I dunno if the Rockman 7 path is the hardest or not, but with the Crush Noise weapon, it's probably one of the shortest. . . Mwee hee hee. File Download: http://ironfeline.org/btime/NSStuff/megaman-bass-mm7_josephcollins-v2.zip (FinalBurn Alpha format) Edit: S'pose it would've helped had I actually linked to the file! *cough* In the future, I will do another run. Using the Player 2 side will save me time. Also, doing Junkman early on will save me time. Everything else would pretty much be the same. As for Rockman 2: The Power Fighters, we'll see. I was fiddling around with said game using Duo a while back but I forget how that went.
I'm not that hard to find... if you know where to look. -=( http://jolikmc.tumblr.com )=-

The D&D games, especially Shadow of Mystara, seem like great choices since, as far as I know, they weren't ported to home consoles.

Both were ported to Saturn, actually. It's a crazy-expensive 2-disc set. SoM requires the 4MB RAM cart to run.

My brother seems to be in the arcade run scene, and he'd like me to share some of his stuff. Currently he's finished an all-kill, all-collect run of Metal Slug, a run for Gigawing with a 14 digit score starting with a 6, and is currently working on the first Dungeons & Dragons. Edit: Dungeons & Dragons done.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

I watched all three of those vids, and they were awesome. Tell your bro to keep up the good work. I can't wait to see more of his stuff.

sorry man, can't watch them, I don't know why.. I've downloaded the lastest FBA version, the correct mslug ROM and all the BIOS files needed (besides, of course, the .fr file).. When I try to play it the program gives me the message: "Error loading This input recording"
