Thanks guys. I forgot to mention that I added who's done development for which emulators. It is quite likely that I missed some people, so if I have, please let me know and I'll get that corrected. Regarding SNES9x v10's scenario - I would like to add more information about which versions added which features, but I'm still trying to think of a compact way to do that.

My record reset version is v9, not v10... Can't remember (or find) where I got it though...

Since the source/linux column isn't supposed to line up with any content in the other column, it might look nicer if you top-aligned the content (td valign=top)

Upthorn's AVIsplitting Mupen64 v8 should probably be on the page also, primarily because it can be quite useful for windows users trying to record an AVI of a very long run. I've added the binary+source to my mirror along with some wording changes/clarification to the N64 section: (http://www.bluetoaster.net/emu/all.html#n64)

Also, do you think it would be useful to include the debugging emulators like FCEUXD and Geiger's Snes9x?

I fail at making proper packages, so I've removed the debs. The tgz's should work fine, though, and I updated the FCEU one to include DeHackEd's stream-dumping .16 version (for encoding purposes). I'll try to get VBA, Dega and Mupen up as soon as possible along with some documentation, perhaps.

I can make debs if you like, but it looks like it's usually just a binary into /usr/local/bin, so it's probably not necessary :D

yeah, the packaging was mainly for dependency management, but the binaries themselves are pretty good at whining when SDL is missing or something.

Sorry for the delay this week; I've updated most of the stuff that you guys have posted, thanks! I've organized the utilities page a bit differently, hopefully it's less confusing than before. FCEUXD and SNES9x that Maximus posted appear to be non-rerecording versions. I still think they are useful, though. I will probably re-organize the site a bit in the near future into different "purposes" pages - one for re-recording emulators, one for memory-hacking emulators, one for encoding emulators, and any others that I or someone else can come up with.

Since you are adding debugging emulators, you should probably look at this. Also, I downloaded v19.4 (which I never knew existed) and it does say v19.3 in the about

adelikat gave me 19.4, it fixes some bug related to "Movie Stop", I don't know the details though. And if there is already a dedicated page to hacking emulators, I don't really see a need for me to have one as well. I'm mostly trying to provide a solution to tasvideos' lack of self-hosting. Todo list for myself:
  • Find source for VBA 19.3
  • Find source for Gens
  • Check out DeHackEd's SNES9x-Lua
  • Keep an eye on Gocha's current work for SNES9x 1.51
  • Soon change the recommended emulator to SNES9x 1.43 beta 18, after a bit more user testing
  • Find some formatting that will allow information (descriptions?) to be available for some/all of the emulators
  • Put up some source code for accessories where they are available

Ok for NES emulators, it is missing FCEU 0.98.10 but I doubt someone kept this version. It is also missing VirtuaNES. Latest version is 0.97. Also, missing Nintendulator. For the Snes section, it written: "# SNES9x 1.43 - TAS features added by gocha, nitsuja". blip was the first to release a rerecording emulator for Snes9x. He should be mentioned. Also, the first release was 1.42 which is probably rare too. I thought I kept that version but it seems I only have the official version which doesn't contain rerecording. Also missing Snes9x 1.502 for Windows and 1.5 for Linux. As for Final burn alpha, I do have the binary and source of it.

Thanks for the info. I'll add Blip to the SNES developers. I didn't know most of these old versions existed (such as FCEU .10 and SNES9x 1.42). Though they are old, I'll still host them if someone can get them to me. My rationale for that is that there may be a TAS somewhere done on a very old emulator that is needed for correct syncing. Does SNES9x 1.502 Windows or 1.5 Linux have re-recording? Also I need to update 1.51 with Gocha's recent dev. For the other NES emulators, I decided to not put them because they haven't been accepted emulators here (I don't think anyway). But if there is another reason that I don't know for having more NES emulators, I could host them. I could also host Final Burn Alpha (I don't know much about this emulator) if you can upload it because I think it's accepted or almost accepted here for TASing. I'll try to get to this soon.

There aren't many movies done with FCEU 0.98.10 and I think all stay sync in 0.98.12. So, that version isn't useful but it would be a nice add-up to the museum. ;) I think the only guy that may have kept that version is blip himself, maybe Bisqwit does have the source but I doubt it. I am afraid that version is lost forever. The reason of being unkown by many people is that 0.98.12 version has been released somehing like 3-4 weeks after and 0.98.10 was mainly in beta-testing phase. And people were still using Famtasia. Published movies done with 0.98.10: Dragon's lair by Phil Power Blade by Genisto. I think there is also another one made by someone(Walkerboh?) but I don't remember what it is. Also, I have started Legend of Zelda run with that version but finish it with .12. As for Snes9x 1.42, the scenario is similar except that 1.43WIP1 was released ~4-5 monthes after. So, there is even higher chances that someone still have it. All my published SNES movies are done with 1.42 if I remember correctly. And some people have done movies with it. Also the source code for FCEU 0.98.12 is still available. Also, it is a good idea to create such page. However, I would put all rerecording emulators, accepted or not.

98.8 doesn't have rerecord and maybe not even record at all. The link to 98.10 is dead and it looks the official version. There is NO official FCEU version with rerecord. JXQ: Also, "Source Code Download Gens "Grrl" v9f Linux port" in Arcade section next to FBA. Edit: However, the source is "partially" included with the .rar you are hosting. It's a patch file for fba 0.2.94.98 source which is maybe available on the official website.

Thanks bisqwit! I was able to compile 0.98.15 but not 0.98.16.luke. First error was a missing Makefile.in. I got past it by copying from the .15, but the compilation failed. I don't need to do anything special to compile that one, do I?
