While this would just be something people do on the forums, I thought it would be cool to TAS the mini games that don't get played in the actual runs. I'm now just putting new runs in the top post here, so keep an eye out for more. Ok, I tried my luck in Panic Restaurant's fishing game. Luck manipulation can probably be a lot better though. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/141216830/Panic%20Restaurant%20%28U%29ctf.fcm

The only problem with mini games both TAS and speedrunning wise is that you usually get a bunch of people who got the exact same score meaning often perfection is quite easily reached in a short space of time.

Which is why it's a fun forum topic, and not candidates for submission:)

If enough people make enough minigame-tases, someone should make a compilation avi of the best ones. :)

I'm just gonna edit my first post from now on when I make a new one, so keep an eye out. I added Kirby's Air Grind from Kirby NiDL, and Pikachu's Beach from Pokemon Yellow.

Sure there is! What is the shortest possible course that the game can give you? Now how can you make the game give you a course of that length? And does setting that course up cost more than running a slightly longer course? :) Gunty's Lufia 2 TAS definitely belongs in this category. He basically TAS'ed a random dungeon generator and created an extremely improbable and fast movie.

I mean that the course length varies each time you start a new round. You can't manipulate the length during the actual mini game. I might be confusing this with the Surfing game in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, since I know for sure the course length varies on that. Also, I'm glad that you think the same way Raiscan. I played that game like crazy on the cartridge, and my record was 52. My Romani Ranch Ghost balloon Target Practice time was 00:31.41 (always write down your top times/scores. You'll be glad you did.)

I'd like to see Pokemon Mystery Dungeon for this reason. :) It could turn out remarkably similar to that roguelike on the MD, Fatal Labyrinth.
Voted NO for NO reason

I posted an improved Pikachu's Beach. Now aiming for high score, and looking cool.

Pokemon Stadium doesn't work on Mupen. However, once it does, I think a full-on TAS of the minigames would be good.

Me don't think so. I got it to work a while ago but can't remeber how I did it :P. I also agree with LagDotCom. It would be FANTASTIC to see Mystery Dungeon Red done by maniputaling the rooms. I think depending on what frame you enter is a different room. My Game & Watch submission that I canceled: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6746
See Youtube page (GIRfanaticTAS) for all runs and stuff.

Uh, besides the Ancient Cave Lufia II doesn't have any random dungeons. If you want an improbable movie, go watch the Dragon Warrior Monsters TAS. That's a very well done run through a game entirely made of random dungeons.

I added "Taz Stage" from Looney Tunes. It's technically not a mini game, but it pretty much is one. Also, I wanted to show what Taz Stage would look like in my Looney Tunes run if speed wasn't an issue.

I did this because I was having an argument as to what the best obtainable score was for Makicarps Splash in Pokemon Stadium. When we played each other he managed to get 28 and claimed it as flawless. This then lead into a debate as, since I claimed that 30+ is probaly possible. So I subsequently made this to prove my point. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-r64liSaQyM

I've done 32 in the console, you need to get rhythm. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/SamuraiGoroh/Pokemon%20Stadium/03.jpg The image is blurry because I tapped it on VHS...

32 is more than possible to get because if you look at the video you can see the timer stops 1-2 frames before I can jump again.

Well, I don't know how many frames you miss to get another jump, but it does look close, I barely reach my 32nd jump... Do you plan on trying the other mini games? (Ekan's hop & hurl, and Sushi go round). Or even all the mini games playing on hyper? I would love to see that :)

Ekans Hurl and Sushi Go Round are luck based, so knowing the best possible score is impossible. I don't think the other mini games are suitable to TAS since there mostly button bash games and aren't timed so the only pleasure you would get from it is "look how bad you made the computer look". I might check to see if Stadium 2 has any interesting mini games.

For Ekans Hoop Hurl, it could be one of those ones where it's just cool to watch, even if it isn't the highest score. Goomba Thumping from Mario RPG works the same way. Chansey game in stadium 2 might be fun to watch. It always reminds me of Egg catcher from Kirby's Adventure. Perhaps yet another concept Hal reused for one of it's own games?

I made a TAS of Bomb Rally from Kirby Nightmare in Dream Land. This sort of varies from the standard TAS since I tried to make the rally last as long as possible rather than end it quickly. It's much cooler that way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1q2gbgL_iI

I like Kirby. Kirby is fun. I made a TAS of the Kirby's Adventure boss rush a while ago, back when I should have been doing schoolwork during the semester. If nothing else, it kept me sane and entertained. I didn't really care about beating it quickly (other than TAS perfection, of course), I was just having fun. So you'll see me spend a lot of time on Sun and Moon to get UFO, and Kracko to get Hi-Jump. Youtube link FCM link The sound quality of the Youtube video kinda sucks. For some reason, FCEU just spit out the sound wrong when I was encoding, I have no idea why.
