What tricks/glitches/cheats are so deep stuck in your head, that you even would remember them on your deathbed? For me, I will never forget what exactly to do next in Monkey Island. Picked this up a few days ago again and still remember what to do from wehn I was still a small child.

If Mario is in a space too small for him to fit, he'll be ejected slowly to the right. When I saw morimoto's first SMB3 run and he did that to cut through Bowser's Castle at the hidden 1up, I burst out laughing. Mainly because I know about that already, yet somehow it caught me off guard when it shouldn't have.

I make a comic with no image files and you should read it. While there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free. -Eugene Debs

The drop glitch from Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones is a personal favourite of mine, since it allows for quite a bit of Secret World exploration in what is otherwise a pretty linear game. I've had hours of fun screwing around with enemy spawning with that one :P

Oh, and another obscure cheat code that's been stuck in my head since childhood: A play on the Konami Code in Crash Bandicoot 3: Up up down down left right left right square. Unlocked a demo for the original Spyro the Dragon. Also, the Ditman glitch in Resident Evil 4. Equip a striker, hold R+Y, equip a different weapon. You ran twice as fast and occassionally could go OOB :D

Gradius 3 and Gradius Generation's "gotcha" play on the original Konami Code: it appears to give you the traditional full powerup at first, but then it kills you. You have to substitute the L and R shoulder buttons for left and right to get it to work properly. :p

http://www.crispygamer.com/features/2009-02-16/if-these-bugs-are-wrong-i-dont-want-to-be-right.aspx I think this is a cool article and seems relevant here. Is 007 373 5963 a cheat or a trick? Also, on the topic of Punch-out, the clock stopping glitch. For me it is a natural part of standard play now.

Years ago a Street Fighter 2 machine at an arcade I frequented had locked up with Guile standing right next to Vega. Now I know what that was all about! Thank you for clearing that up. (the arcade operators appeared to have not noticed it was bugged up, so it remained that way for about a week; I ended up kicking the cabinet until the screen turned red; that got their attention since it was up and running the next day)

The password in Mega Man X for the last levels with all weapons, E-tanks, hearts and part upgrades (no Hadouken, though). It's 367646675148. Yep. I've had it in my head for about 10 years or so I think.

RIG7 NVFX E45V 07BT Castlevania II where Simon starts the game with everything and defeats Dracula for a daytime bad-news ending. It's been like that since I was a child and still remember it. ^_^
