Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. to tell the truth whether i kill enemies or not is just based on my mood at the time :). It's just that simply killing an enemy never seems entertaining to me, I have to find an interesting way to kill them. If they're just like in front of me and I shoot them, woohoo what a great demonstration of power and skill! So if the enemy is like obviously helpless I leave it alone. Like in the final segment of level 8 I only kill the skulls, those bastards, and I leave all the little bees alone, except for one that was unavoidably in my path. Maybe I will kill more stuff next time. I probably should kill more in the water stage, I was quite a pacifist there. also you're right the music is pretty filthy in bm. I put it on a mix cd once

Watching the movie now. It looks good. One thing though, I have pointed it out before but maybe it´s boring to do it? Anyways, at one point you leave the car at a "keyhole", then climb up a very tall ladder and then work your way back to unlock the other "door". Here it´s possible to fall all the way down and just before hitting the ground, which will normally result in death, you can pause the game and then when you unpause you will land safely. Could save a couple of seconds.

You know, i tried that, but it didn't work. Is there some trick to it? I remember you mentioning it and I gave it a shot, but I kept dying ._. Pausing resets the gravity damage thing? I'll go give it a shot now

It should work. Atleast it worked for me a couple of years ago on a real NES, PAL version. Yes, it should reset the gravity so the character doesn´t die from falling. Did you use pause? And not the menue-pause?

Hmm, weird. Well, it might be possible that it doesn´t work on a NTSc version? Gonna see if I can find it @ gamefaqs.

Gamefaqs didn´t mention anything about this. I suppose it´s only working on a PAL version then.

I've decided not to do the continue thing, its just too....cheap. As long as I'm worrying about any kind of aesthetic form, I can't do that. Anyway, I love watching the tank swim, its fun to watch and to control. anyway, have you guys gotten the pause-bomb trick to work on the giant crab boss? Wonn's page says its possible but I can't make it happen.

Hey all, I've began work on a new version of Blaster Master using FCEU. I've already completed levels 1-3 and would like some feedback before I continue. Blaster Master: Levels 1-3 This movie ends after defeating level 3's boss and returning to level 2. Compared to my old version it's 20 seconds faster at this point. Improvements include: General: - Using frame advance to pause at the earliest possible frame to skip the scrolling animation inbetween rooms - Using frame advance to shoot backwards without losing momentum - Using frame advance to select weapons while paused Level 1: - Destroys more enemies in the first room to avoid slowdown - Faster route through the dungeon by destroying blocks - Faster boss fight by using frame advance to shoot behind me as I walk - Doesn't get hit by the miniboss guarding level 2 Level 2: - Nothing specific Level 3: - Affects randomness so I don't have to jump in the beginning of the second room to avoid getting hit by the worm - Better use of special weapons - Destroys more enemies - Better boss fight - Does a better job of destroying blocks in the room before the boss - Demonstrates a few interesting glitches while killing myself that show you still control your character while bouncing after taking lethal damage from a fall That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. Any comments and suggestions would be welcome. Thanks! Namflow

I was hoping there would be a new movie of this! Way to get in close on those enemies. I can only wonder why your last movie wasn't so precise...

Same here, this is excellent so far! I liked the last movie a lot, so this should end up being one of my favorites when it's through. BTW, totally offtopic...are you the Shun player Namflow? I was pretty good friends with the Ohio VF crew before I moved out of Columbus, and heard a bit about you from them. -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

I have some ideas, mostly about cutting corners and having maximum speed as you pass them. I can post specifics tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, I have an exam to study for now.

Hey all, thanks for all the compliments. I'm glad you enjoyed my old run of Blaster Master. It is one of my favorite games from back in the day. I've been meaning to do a new version of Blaster Master for a while now since I know the old version has more than a few things that can be improved. Now that I see there's a decent amount of interest I'm motivated to continue working on it. Truncated: Any advice on how to keep the momentum going would be appreciated. I try to keep my forward momentum going while jumping to a new ledge, and I think I've done a better job this time around without turning around while jumping. Josh: Yup, I'm the same Nafmlow who plays Shun in VF. I've only met the Ohio crew once or twice but they're awesome. Anyways I'll keep working on this and keep you guys posted. Thanks again, I'll see ya! Namflow

I've been craving to do a new video and I think this might be a good choice since namflow obviously isn't around anymore. I can only work on this for like 2 hours a week but I hope I'll get something done eventually. I, too noticed some room for improvement in the areas you mentioned, Truncated, but I would still really like to see your suggestions, just to be sure I'm not missing anything.

Easy. Blow walls up with the tank. Leave the tank in the destroyed walls. Move player out. Pause. You can't proceed further without your tank, and it's now stuck in a wall. You'd have to gameover yourself to get it back. To REALLY screw yourself over, pause while the human is standing in the cleared blocks. Basically, cleared tiles are restored when you pause the screen. I see no practical use for this.

Meh, he said he had a crapload of bandwidth to spare, I think it's something with the phpBBmod script, hosting from my own server now.

There was a glitch I activated once. While inside level 2, I hopped out of my vehicle to enter the structure leading to the boss. I don't know how I did it, but somehow I ended up going through the left wall, finding myself in that large vertical room with the blocks blocking the way to level 3, and(most unfortunately) high in the air. Unfortunately, I don't remember the glitch well enough to make an attempt to reproduce it. But I'm assuming you must be outside the vehicle to reproduce it, making it almost useless.

I believe http://kontek.net/davidwonn/nes.html defines the glitch gigafrost speaks of...as for image leeching, I am unaware of any statement that I am not allowed to use that particular photo...if the site I got it from would have said, please don't use this photo...then I wouldn't have...but, since it did not...I didn't think it would be a problem...Sue me!
