There are currently 3 bytes used for rerecording in Gens 11. Byte 1 is for Player 1, Byte 2 is for Player 2, and Byte 3 for either 6-button controller placeholders or Player 3. I would probably would like to have the bytes extended to 8. For 8 3-button controllers with 2 Team Players or 5 6-button controllers with 1 Team Player. Better yet, extend it to 12 so that 8 6-button controllers are used for rerecording.

What about mouse support? =) Apparently there should be some games with support for it.

I am aware that there was a mouse accessory made for the Genesis, but I have never heard of any games that used it.

Which of course leaves the other issue that I'm totally ignorant of its communication protocol, but perhaps I can discover some resource to become informed.

One of the sound generators seems to be using a sine wave instead of a square wave - most notably in the Sonic games, using 11a's default settings. Any way to change this back as it was in earlier versions?

I think that's what happens if you have "PSG High Quality" enabled in the Sound menu. I'm not sure how that got to be on by default, it definitely shouldn't be. Perhaps most people haven't noticed it yet if the setting is carried over from a previous version of Gens. It will be off again by default in the next Gens release, whenever that will be.

I would like to see the SuperEagle Kreed SaiX2 or whatever its name was back again. It was the best filter. Why has it been removed from newer gens versions? The EPX filter doesn't really look good, even the normal interpolated mode looks better. I would also like to see what state I have selected, so I don't have to go to the menu every time to check it, because I keep forgetting it.

It has not been removed, but it does not function in 32bpp mode. If you want to use it, switch your desktop to 16bpp.
