I did a little demonstration, it's a boss rush with LV4 Victory: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geA0IlytI2Y Side-Question: Is there any progress on the TAS?

I'm a interested to TAS this game in a future (not sure when), but i've already done a route: Area A - Robotic Snake Area C - Pass the Test Area B - Enemy Fighter Jet Area D - Girouette Area E - Model H (1) Area G - Model F (1) Area F - Model L (1) Area I - Model H (2) Area X - Prometheus Area K - Model F (2) Area H - Model P (1) Area L - Model P (2) Area J - Model L (2) Area M - Pandora Area O - Prometheys & Pandora Area D - Serpent I've bee following this map. I rode again the thread and Satoryu said there is a shortcut in Area I and that it needs Model F, this shortcut is the one that travels through I-1 to I-3? If so, then i MUST get Model F before Model H (2), anyway, im not that familiar with this game, so i need some suggestions. EDIT: Editted the route, it's totaly worthy to take the shortcut, and then decided that i should get Model L for the Model H (2) fight, when i reach there i will decide if it's better to use Model L or Model ZX.

The route looks good, and I'm sure you'd be up to TASing this game. Also, I was also planning to work on this, after I finish ZXA.

So, i figured that you must return back if you beat Model L (2) as the final boss, because you need to warp to Area X before going to Area M, and in Area J you can't warp, so i think i should beat Model L (2) before both Model Ps.

Yeah, F2-L2-P1-P2 is fastest. That way you'll use the transervers to transport as little as possible. And as for boss levels... Hivolt: L1? Since we'll be fighting him with ZX it will take longer to kill him without abusing his weak point. I also can't think of many utilities of Tornado that require over like 16 bars of biometal energy right at once. Fistleo: L4, 5-hit kill, lolz. Unless hitting his weak point four times does enough to kill him in 4 hits, but I highly doubt that. Lurerre: don't really care, enough to beat Hurricaune quickly? Hurricaune: L3 or so, enough to beat in 2 combo's without ice dragon while keeping enough bm meter for Tornado Flammole: L4, same as Fistleo Leganchor: don't care Purprill: L1, just beat him fast because PX is useless anyway Protectos: L1, see Purprill

Model H (1) = Level 1 Victory (Air Rolling Slash Abuse on His Wings) Model F (1) = Level 3-4 Victory (Depends if i can avoid his head without loosing time) Model L (1) = Level 4 Victory (With Model F, i can easily avoid her head) Model H (2) = Level 3-4 Victory (2 Combo KO with Model L) Model F (2) = Level 3-4 Victory (Same as Model F (1)) Model L (2) = Level 2-3 (Will hit his head) Model P (1) = Level 1-2 (Either Tornado or Air Rolling Slash on the arms) Model P (2) = Level 1-2 (Same as above)

You can Combo using 2 Hammer by using both Arms. Charged Shots and Infernos can't combo twice. When using Infero, you can hit before the waves come with the Hammer. If you hit with the Hammer and then Inferno (One Move Only) while using Overdrive, the Inferno will do 6 Damage. --Model LX-- Ground Slash: 4-8-16 Air Slash: 3-7-14 Wall Slash: 3-7-14 Ice Platform: 3-6-6-12 Ice Dragon: 5-10-10-20 Level 1: Ice Platform, Ice Dragon Level 2: Air Slash, Wall Slash Level 3: Ground Slash --Model PX-- Kunai: 1-2 Shuriken: 2+5-3+5 Level 1: Kunai Level 2: Shuriken NOTES: If you hold the attack button, you can throw 4 Kunais and this 4 will combo.
For obvious reasons, i didn't put OX.

found a first stage TAS on youtube that had a good boss fight, not sure if it's better than computerbird's TAS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHgUj0OOBMc he manipulates the boss to always make the "dive" move which is the fastest possible I believe, and he doesn't need to get hit, which means he won't lose time charging health at the transerver

I think it's faster to make the boss uses that poison spheres attack.

you sure? I remember with my TAS, the little time the boss spent out of the screen was always invincible, so in the end the dive didn't make me lose any time, can't be sure though but you probably shouldn't get hit also I might have understood something interesting: I'm currently playing MMZX on Hard because I hadn't beaten the game on Hard yet, and at the mid boss of area O, I've been able to manipulate it to always use the tentacles that make him lose life, killing him really quick in just 4 "turns", and I've manipulated him so by moving left-right continuisly, like the guy in the TAS vid I linked before does for the stage 1 boss, so stepping left-right continuosly might be a good way to manipulate bosses edit: nevermind, after more tests it seems like I just got lucky that one time… it might help manipulating but it's not a perfect method

If you look closely to the video, you can see his invuneralbility to wear off after he goes out and before he came back.

that's true… hmm either way, getting hit should be avoidable so computerbird's TAS can be improved are you going to start TASing this game? if so, when? I think I want to redo the first stage myself, maybe I'll try it oh also, computerbird's encodes/dsm are so old that the links don't work anymore, has anybody saved them? I'd like to rewatch them

anyway I've got some ram addresses if you care? Snake boss HP: 021510AA (starts with 64) Snake boss invulnerability: 0215109C (timer, goes from 90 to 0, but you can still hit the boss while invulnerable…) own invulnerability: 0214FBA4 (same as the boss, 90-0, this time it works properly) charge shot: 021525D9 (goes to 1 with first charge, to 2 with second charge) final charge shot: 02152665 (goes to 2 when ready) timer for charge shot: 0214FC38 (40 is first charge, 80 is second charge, 120 is final charge, 40 and 80 have to be realeased 1 frame earlier so 39-79, 120 has to be released on 120 though) might try to TAS that first level now the poison attack for the boss makes you lose a lot of time, it can't be hit with a second charge shot, only with the final charge, because it shifts its hitbox higher, so you have to wait a lot to be able to hit, or waste a shoot and hit only once, not really sure what's faster

Nice, I added some of these to the Mega Man ZX game resources page. If you're going to make another run, try finding X, Y, X speed and Y speed RAM addresses. They'd help with optimizing your run.

if with X and Y you mean the coordinate I think X is 020F2059 and Y 020F2001 about the speed, I've been trying to find it but failed… about the run, I doubt I'll ever make a complete one because I can't focus on things for a long period of time… also I'm not that good, I've been trying to manipulate the Snake boss but the only attack I was able to change was the first one, everything after seemed to be set in stone :/ edit: I'm just trying to get a good boss fight on video now, manipulating it is a pain and I also hate the fact that you need to be in a precise position to reach him with a second charged shot :/

optimizing this boss is impossible… I'd like to always release the full charged 1 frame after the 2nd charged, but it having a bigger hitbox ends up hitting before the 2nd charged and counts as only 1 hit… I've been trying a lot and I'm still just after the first 2 hits (which I think are optimized at 16 frames (from starting to move) for the 2nd charged and 17 for full charge) not sure if I'll settle for delaying the full charged a lot or trying to find some good positioning… or give up altogether not to mention the only manipulation I could make is by avoiding to damage it edit: got the first manipulation, but in order to pull it off had to waste 2 or 4 frames (don't remember) :/ now trying for the next manipulation, got the boss to do the dive and the out of screen attack, but I want the poison spheres 11 frames lost for the next manipulation... (literally just waiting still) 706 frames boss fight, that's a 66 frames gain over computerbird's 772 (I take it the timing is from 1st inputable frame to boss death), and I also didn't get hit which helps later; 2-4 frames lost manipulation, 11 frames lost manipulation, not sure if my ending is perfect, haven't manipulated the last move (boss made a dive, didn't cost me time); I settled for delaying the full charge in the end, don't really think it's possible to do otherwise due to the shift in hitbox provoked by the poison spheres attack the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN8YzwYjk4w

does really no one have computerbird's WIP saved? I want to check it before I redo the first stage edit: Rolanmen how do you encode the top screen only? also for your all bosses LV4 win TAS, here's a vid with a better Protectos strategy I believe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ofel1E7u8a4

Wow, that looks nice, that's definitively faster, just need to manipulate him to do any other thing. About the encode, Aktan gave me an scrip for it, if you want it, paste this in a script and use it on VirtualDub:
#Version() AVISource("Videofile.avi") crop(0, 0, -0, 192)
This is to remove the botton screen only.

Then what do you use to compress the video?

In that time, i used Anri-Chan, it's a software created by nate from SDA wich is what they use to compress their videos, now i use x264 for MP4 and MKVmerge for MKV (the last one are only for YT).
