Seriously, if you are going to cheat, at least do it well.
I beat adelikat's super cheating movie by 2.6 seconds.
Plus, I keep the animations.
For my next movie, I'm thinking of doing Contra or BattleToads with the level select code.
OH TEH NOES! I've BEEN BESTED!

Seriously? I'm the only No Vote so far? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?
Sage advice from a friend of Jim: So put your tinfoil hat back in the closet, open your eyes to the truth, and realize that the government is in fact causing austismal cancer with it's 9/11 fluoride vaccinations of your water supply.

I tried to do something similar, moving the e2 pawn to d8 killing the queen right out and then shuffling it to b7, and making the winning move b7xc8=Q++, buuuuuut the computer seems to think there's possibly a way out but can't find one, so gets stuck in an infinite thinking loop and I don't get no checkmate satisfaction. Using the queen instead works but damn, winning by an attacking promotion causes a programming error, you'd have thought they'd thought of that.

I suggest you guys created a thread to discuss your strategies. Damn, I was going to upload an encode, but it was cancelled before I could do it. It doesn't matter anyway, as there'll be another one in less than one hour.

The problem with that conclusion is that several of the yes votes were probably members playing along, as the whole Battle Chess submissions situation is absurd as it is. Unless, of course, you have also begun to play along, in which case I will need to get my Sarcasm-o-meter recalibrated, for internet sarcasm (IS units) is difficult to gauge correctly sometimes.

I'm suddenly reminded of the Calvin and Hobbes strip where Calvin complains about 75 being only a 'C', claiming that if the (American) government were 75% efficient, we'd be estatic. Sadly, I could not find it to post here as an image.

Nice memory for details. Here you go: I'm guessing this is the most fun some people have had since April Fools.

Do a 2-player run with only 2 moves or not do it at all. Cheating is disallowed in chess tournaments.

Belated yes vote. This is the most optimal TAS I've seen in a long time, and the people on this site have been more excited for this than the new 0-star SM64 run.

But this isn't a chess tournament! It is a TAS, and TASes are all about going outside the "rules". Rules say you can't go through walls, the TASers pushes right through those walls. We are TASers, we don't like to be bound by such confining things as "rules"
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

They're more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules. (It had to be said.)

We are a site all about outside the box thinking. Petty little things like "Chess rules" are soooo inside the box.
