I need a bit of help deciding on what resolution. So here is this poll. I forgot to mention that the bigger the resolution, the bigger the file. While I have no idea how big a 1920x1440 file is, I'm sure it be quite large... I also forgot to mention that it is harder on the CPU at high resolutions like 1920x1440, but I think you know that already =p Another thing I should mention is that there are graphical errors on higher resolutions, like lines in the middle of textures. I guess you can tell that I prefer native resolution, huh? Example graphical error: http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/7716/77151263.png

If higher resolutions add errors, I have to say go for the lower-res w/ anti-aliasing.

Please note that not everybody has a top-of-the-line computer, and that playing a very high-resolution H.264 video is a very heavy operation. Only the fastest 32-bit PC's (eg. 3+ GHz Pentium4) are able to play HD-resolution H.264 videos without lag. Get any lower than that in CPU processing power, and you won't be able to watch the video. The resolution you are voting for there is above that critical limit. Is there any rational reason to use such a high resolution? It's not like it adds much to the video quality. Btw, why are 320x240 and 1280x960 the only available options? There are many usable resolutions in-between those two, such as a good compromise of 800x600, which is relatively high-res but still playable even with older computers.

Due to pixel art, it is best to have it in multiples of 320x240, so 800x600 won't be an option, but 640x480 is and 960x720 is another (abit weird). I also don't know how to fix the poll to add more options.

Personally I would prefer even 640x480 over 1280x960. (My PC could most probably play the latter, but I believe there are regular visitors who have slower computers than mine.)

Now that you've added the option: 640x480. Mostly because it's the highest with anti-aliasing.

1920*1440... something has gotta force you to make an 'Original' mode YouTube video!

I find anti-aliasing very important, if it has any kind of effect with ocarina of time. 1280x960 would be the best I think.

If we are talking about the official encode, I must object to the large resolutions! It isn't about filesize it is about the fact that a lot of peoples computers can't even handle the playback. Our torrents strive for accessibility too. I vote 320x240 or _maybe_ 640 Save the monster big ones for the streams. Or include a 2nd torrent for it (in which case I vote for having the smallest and largest of the options).
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

I agree with adelikat, you have to think about the site as a whole, not just what OoT fanatics want. In this situation, best to go with 320x240, and also whatever other size the fans agree on.

I think 640x480 is better. It's not such a postal-stamp-size as 320x240, but it's still small enough to be playable even with quite old PCs.

Okay, so I've decided to do 320x240 and 640x480. Since I capture to 1920x1440 anyway, I may also do 1920x1440. There is also a request for a Cel texture version, so I may also do that version if noone takes it. That's a total of 4 encodes! Man this will take a while... Thanks for all the feedback!

Thanks for encoding this monster. I'd also like the Cel texture version, so please do it if nobody else does it.
