I can't believe this game hasn't been brought up yet. I have never beaten this game, but I have played enough of it to know that I feel it is TAS worthy. I could have swore someone was working on a TAS for this a couple years ago, or maybe a year ago. But my memory is really bad. I didn't find a topic for this in any of the Seven Pages. I just feel this game deserves a TAS. It's a unique Action/RPG in my opinion.

I have never heard of this game before. I haven't played this game so I don't know if it's TAS worthy. I like to make posts where I make a full paragraph out of every single sentence. I therefore think the two of us will be fast friends. I send you this file in order to have your advice.

I second this motion. It is a very stylistic game and would be very fun to watch.

You can find the rom just about anywhere SNES Roms can be found. I suggest you find it and give it a try. ;3 EDIT: Oh yes. If you have trouble finding it, the full name of the game is The Twisted Tale of Spike McFang. Just for those of you who don't know. :3

You might want to edit the topic header too to avoid "I can't find the ROM!!" posts ;)

Don't know how to change the name of a topic, so I created a whole new one! :3 From what I understand from reading a FAQ, this game should be highly TASable. Now we just need a Runner to TAS it. :3 I'm not qualified to do any Speed Runs or the like, just find the whole thing too complicated... Anyway. Hoping someone will take this game on. ;3

i just fired up this one for the first time, i'm gunna play through it once and see if it's worth doing, i've never completed a TAS before due to incredible ADD coupled with working too much, but who knows, maybe this is the one to take on. the intro/training sure has a lot of unskippable slow dialog, but hopefully as the game progresses it's not as bad.

There is a lot of text, but there is a lot of funny stuff that happens in the game as well from what I have seen so far. I have not beaten it yet myself. But I am planning to sooner or later. :3 If you plan to do a TAS afterward, I wish you luck. ;3

i'm about halfway through the initial run, i am gunna try to figure out the important memory addresses tonight while i'm going through, see if i can manipulate the most important cards, etc... i think this will be my first try at a full run tas...

I think it would speed the game up if you could manipulate Attack cards, such as Fire and so on, and Tomato Juice Cards, unless you are going to go for No Damage. I think the Attack Cards will be of great use though, depending on how well they are used. :3[/quote]

the only cards that i can see as helping for a tas would be the attack cards i think, and you can definitely manipulate the random card store to give you what you want...

The Attack Cards would be good for Power Leveling if you have to as well. I'm not sure if the attack cards have a set attack power based on your level, or if they have one of their own.

Don't let that deter you- I have mild ADD, and I must say TASing is in no way inhibited by that, if nothing it helps me to keep my character moving 100% of the time, especially at bosses which keeps audiences entertained. Plus, unlike single segment runs you can let your TAS work around your schedule, and not the other way around since you can stop at any time and pick up where toy left off.

I don't remember the exact code offhand, but there's a code you can enter at the title screen to allow the 2nd player to control the helper character. A TAS of this game should definately use this both for entertainment and to possibly save time. Although there's the "Cheat-keys and debugging codes are not allowed" rule, I definately think that this should be an obvious exception to the rule.

That was a really fun game, I didn't remember it until I search google for screen shot. I would be really happy to see a tas of this game.

Can't be the only one who remembers it, can I? I'd do a test run, but I'm lazy as hell. Only reason I did that shoddy Ninja Five-O run was to trigger other people to make better runs. Which worked beautifully, so I guess I should give it a try. But I'm sure there are people here who know way more about both the game and its glitches than me. Beats seeing another Super Metroid submission, anyway.

I remember this game, too. But I can't be the one who TASes it, can I?
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do

I enjoy this game, myself. Played it by emulator a few times. Never got too far, but I still find it fun. I would so watch a TAS of it.
